Support SWAASTHYA - Charitable and Holistic Healthcare for Under privileged

The Swaasthya Hospitals, Health & Wellness initiative of The Satsang Foundation is a 53-bed, secondary care charitable healthcare center dedicated to providing holistic medical services in and around Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, India.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sri M, Founder, The Satsang Foundation, had envisioned the establishment of the Swaasthya Hospital, a health delivery system that would help ease the situation of people in distress and address the medical needs of the rural population.

Inaugurated in July 2023, at Swaasthya, we offer free healthcare, ensuring access to essential medical services for those who need it the most. We emphasize on preventive healthcare by promoting healthy living practices and educating people on maintaining overall wellness.

Through our outreach programs, we strive to raise awareness and educate communities about health, disease prevention, and wellness. Our goal is to foster a healthier society by making high-quality healthcare easily accessible to the people in numerous villages in the region.

Services offered at Swaasthya Hospital include General Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Dental Care, Physiotherapy, Emergency Services, Community Outreach and Telemedicine.

Our visiting volunteer doctors are leading specialists, including cardiologists, cardio-thoracic surgeons, neurologists, neurosurgeons, nephrologists, urologists, diabetologists, and dentists from renowned hospitals in major cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.

Sri M's mission is to render such holistic healthcare for optimal results, with utmost compassion.

Who do we serve?

Approximately 80% of the patients belong to the lower to lower-middle-income groups, while the remaining patients come from the middle-income group, from within a 75 km radius of Swaasthya Hospitals in Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Many schools and institutions are covered for early screening in the areas of ophthalmology, dental, respiratory, anaemia, gastro-intestinal, menstrual ailments. Menstrual health and hygiene is a key focus in these rural areas.

Out Reach Camps - Need of the hour

Outreach camps offer a range of services, including general screenings, as well as specialized care in cardiology, dentistry, and obstetrics/gynaecology. Special attention is provided to students, women, and the elderly.

The camps prioritize support for low-income and economically disadvantaged groups, with a particular focus on tribal communities in the region.

Frequent general screening camps are held early in the morning, during which Random Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure is checked. If abnormalities are found, the care seekers are requested to follow-up at Swaasthya Hospitals.

Till date, 78 outreach camps have been held, screening over 7500 patients. This valuable data is being analysed to identify patterns related to anaemia, fluorosis, cardiovascular symptoms, diabetic symptoms, respiratory symptoms etc.

Insights gained from this analysis will help design & implement targeted interventions. Early detection is crucial as late detection can lead to the onset of critical diseases and placing lifelong burden on economically disadvantaged sections of the society.

Currently, our ambulance serves as a vehicle for transporting paramedic staff, doctors, equipment, and medicines.

In the Coming Years

In the coming years, Swaasthya plans to :

• Increase the bed capacity to 150 and add critical services such as cardiovascular surgeries, a comprehensive diabetes care centre, nephrology, neurosurgery and more .
• Plan to set up satellite centers within 75 kms radius of to provide primary health care to under-served rural population in the Annamayya District, Andhra Pradesh. Vehicles equipped with laboratory diagnostic equipment, ECG, 2D echocardiogram, mobile ICU with ventilators and for movement of medical staff is imperative for the success of this initiative.

Support Required for Swaasthya Hospitals

Sponsor Outreach Camps - INR 14.40 Lakhs p.a. for 36 camps (INR 40,000 per camp)

Each camp serves approx. 120-150 patients for screening, diagnosis, free distribution of medicines across several villages in and around Madanapalle. This also includes free basic laboratory tests such as RBS, BP, Eye checkup, Dental Checkup, Mother & child health etc.

Sponsor an In-Patient - INR 2,70,00,000 for 1800 patients (INR 15,000 per patient)

Covers 3 days of hospital stay bed charges, doctors’ consultation, minor surgical interventions. You can choose to sponsor any number of patients.

Sponsor an Out-Patient Service - INR 90 Lakhs p.a. for 18,000 patients (INR 500 per patient)

Covers doctors’ consultation, nursing charges, basic diagnosis and free medicines (where possible). You can choose to sponsor any number of patients

Major laboratory tests, consumables & drugs are chargeable.
