About 400000 children are on the streets in India, who are vulnerable and deprived of their basic rights. Our Project Kutumb Village is an effort to provide rehabilitation services and shelter to the destitute children & children at risk. We at present have strength of 44 children (29 girls & 15 boys) living at Kutumb Village – our residential care centre. As per the government guidelines we need to accommodate the boys of age group 11-18 years in a separate building. Due to the lack of infrastructure the boys are living in the community centre building which is a temporary arrangement till we construct a boy’s hostel. This has restricted us to limit our services and intake of more boys who need shelter like this.
We aim to complete the construction of the boy’s hospital by 2016 end. The 1700 square feet hostel with 3 floors will accommodate the 15 boys and we also welcome other boys who plan to join us. As of now, we support the kids financially only till they turn 18 years of age but with the construction of this hostel we will increase this age to 24.
The hostel will serve as a house for the boys who are orphan until they are financially independent. It will provide them with a conducive environment to nurture their personalities. We will be able to enroll many more boys and help them turn an asset for the society only with your contribution.
