Raju lives with his family in Redlawada. His parents are both daily wage workers. They have an extremely unstable income.Till Class 1 Raju studied in a local school. However, **due to their financial status his parents were considering stopping their education.**It was then that a well wisher advised them to enroll Raju in the RDF Redlawada School. **His parents agreed to send him to school as they were assured that they would not have any financial burden.**He joined the RDF Redlawada School in class 2. Once he started getting proper attention he began to concentrate better in class. **His teachers slowly realized that he was a very bright student.**Year on Year, he grew stronger and smarter. About The Program

Rural Development Foundation runs schools for underprivileged children with the belief that education is the vehicle to help poor families out of poverty. They aim to equip children with literacy and skills that can enable them to gain employment and bring financial relief to their families.One unit of Donation to this program covers the cost of a uniforms, sports and craft activities for a child.RDF's first school was set up in 1996 by the Errabelli family, in order to bring literacy and education to poor rural families in their native village of Kalleda. Beginning with an enrollment of 80 students in Classes Nursery - 3 in a portion of the ancestral family home, the Kalleda School grew and now is a full fledged school with close to 600 students between pre-primary to Class 10. Over the years, RDF grew from one school to four schools and a junior college with over 1700 children. RDF Matendla School in Siddipet District has grown from 80 students in its 1st batch to close to 400 students.Over the past 2 decades, RDF has refined its education methodology. It understands the limitations of rote memorization. The schools embrace a holistic learning philosophy, with an education model that goes beyond rote, classroom teaching methods. They work intensively in the areas of teacher training and life skills development in children. Academic activities for primary school include a specialized curriculum developed by Silver Oaks School, Hyderabad which includes field visits by the Silver Oaks team, training, monitoring, assessment and feedback. The high School follows the SSC curriculum, and have value add programs such as ,Butterfly Fields', 'English Helper' and subject matter training by volunteers, making the curriculum more intensive and robust. In addition, a Sports Development Program and Social Awareness Program aim to build life skills, along with academics. This provides students with the necessary tools to do well in higher studies, become financially independent and break the bonds of poverty.There are close to 31 teaching and non teaching staff in the RDF Matendla School. Schools operate from 9am to 4pm. RDF believes in hiring and nurturing local talent. Teachers are hired locally and provided with ongoing capacity building programs to upgrade their skills based on the need of the school. A key part of retaining teachers has been to pay them good salaries as well as providing a supportive environment, good infrastructure and teaching aids. This is the highest cost in RDF's annual budget. In addition, the non teaching staff is also mentored and most have been in service since their respective schools started. Most teachers in RDF have been with their schools since inception. Through training, mentoring and assigning them additional responsibilities, teachers have gained confidence, upgraded their skills and several teachers have taken on the mantle of running their schools very efficiently.When you donate to this program, you help in providing underprivileged children with holistic education to help them build confidence for their future.

The Rural Development Foundation (RDF), is an Indian nonprofit organization with the mission of providing quality education for underprivileged rural children. They founded and continues to operate four schools and one junior college in Telangana State, taking a unique holistic approach to education through innovative programs and methodology. Rather than using the conventional method of rote memorization, they focus on cultivating critical thinking skills and encouraging students to understand and apply concepts. They do this through special programs such as Social Awareness, Youth Empowerment, Student Leadership, and Sports. They strive to develop students who will become empowered leaders of their communities, thus working towards the vision of a transformed and prosperous rural India. Beginning with a humble enrollment of 80 students, the number of children attending RDF schools has increased to 1900, as more villagers enroll their sons and daughter in the schools.
