Support Uninterrupted Education for rural children in India

As you know, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected children's learning for more than a year now. With limited means to progress with their academic learning, children in government schools are especially hit hard. Studies show that these children have suffered huge learning losses, potentially damaging their long-term careers and aspirations. 

Children in government schools need all our support to bridge learning gaps in all subjects.

To address this, Makkala Jagriti devised an approach using both online and offline means to ensure every child that we worked with has access to uninterrupted learning. We focus on their social, emotional, creative ,physical and intellectual development and have seen children enjoy learning in the safety of their homes.

With schools now opening in a phased manner, there is a need more than ever to focus on bridging the gaps.

At Makkala Jagriti, a few of the schools we work with have a resource crunch and we aim to raise funds to support 4,200+ children between classes 1 to 7 in 15 schools in Bangalore with well-designed workbooks based on prescribed bridge course content for six months.  Total funds required is Rs. 8,40,000/-. On average, this amounts to Rs. 200/- per child, Rs. 8,000 per class, or Rs 56,000/- per school.
