Makkala Jagriti is an NGO a few of us from MES college visited recently. We spent time with children in one of their learning centers and we were so touched by the talent of the children, their confidence, and their aspirations.The NGO strives to make learning fun and interesting and they are also ensuring children continue to learn when schools remain closed due to the pandemic using both online and offline means.There are many children in rural parts without access to learning and at the risk of dropping out of education. We pledge to raise 30,000 rupees to support uninterrupted learning for rural children that Makkala Jagriti works with. Join us in making this possible.

Makkala Jagriti (Awakening of Children) is a non-profit organization founded in 2003, motivated by a vision of empowering under-privileged children through a holistic approach to learning. Makkala Jagriti provides holistic development opportunities for children in non-threatening learning environments. Our interventions primarily focus on children from marginalized communities, who are often first generation learners lacking the confidence, motivation and capacity to remain enrolled in school and learn. Our Holistic approach to learning enhances the interest of children and increases the quality of learning.We have three programs working with different age groups - Early childhood care and education, primary education and youth empowerment .
