About Us
The Better Education Lifestyle and Environment Foundation (BELIEF) is a not-for-profit organization founded by a group of passionate professionals dedicated to driving social change. For the past five years, our primary focus has been Early Childhood Education (ECE)/ pre-primary education for 3-6-year-olds.
Currently, we are working with nearly 130 Anganwadis in Pune and Nashik in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) department to strengthen the quality of ECE. Under our flagship project- SHAKTI, our primary activities include providing quarterly Anganwadi Teacher Training, in addition to on-site support by trained Field Coordinators.
Teaching Learning Material (TLM) and Its Importance in Early Childhood Education
Teaching Learning Material (TLM) refers to resources like picture books, flashcards, puzzles, building blocks, puppets, and story charts that enhance learning by making it interactive and engaging. These tools help children grasp concepts better, develop essential skills, and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Quality TLM is crucial for children's growth as it supports cognitive, language, motor, and social-emotional development. Different TLM tools aid in various aspects of learning:
- Picture Books & Flashcards – Improve vocabulary, comprehension, and early literacy skills.
- Puzzles & Building Blocks – Enhance problem-solving, creativity, and fine motor skills.
- Puppets & Story Charts – Foster imagination, storytelling, and communication skills.
- Counting Beads & Shape Sorters – Strengthen early math and spatial awareness.
Support Required:
Despite its importance, most Anganwadis lack access to quality TLM due to tight budgets. This shortage affects children's learning experiences, making it essential to equip Anganwadis with effective educational materials to improve Early Childhood Education (ECE).
