Help me support a cause close to my heart

"20 workers lose their hands or fingers every day", just in Gurgaon’s manufacturing sector. Several thousand workers suffer the same fate nationally every year. Most of them are from among the country’s most vulnerable.90% are migrants of the kind we saw on the roads during Covid19 lockdown, 65% informally employed and more than half under 30 years of age. Our mission:<ol><li>To assist thousands of injured workers to improve their post-accident life with mainly healthcare and compensations. (Already assisted 2,500+ injured workers and helped obtained Rs 20 crore value of compensations.</li><li>To promote safer working conditions in the Indian manufacturing sector, which will also improve India's labour-productivity, one of the lowest in the world (rank 115th). Our specific focus is on the auto-sector (90% of workers assisted by us) which employs 3 crore workers.</li><li>To help improve Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)’s healthcare and compensation processes for 14 crore (workers and their families) that depend on it.</li><li>Increase awareness among workers of safer working practices and ESIC benefits and among public of these issues faced by especially migrant workers.</li></ol>Our method:To achieve this, SII assists and engages constructively with the industry, the government and its relevant agencies, and workers. Together with them, we have agreed and started executing a number of initiatives and projects.Impact of your funding support:<ol><li>Every 10,000 Rupee donation helps us fund operations to assist 20 workers with their healthcare and/or with Rs100,000 value of compensation for an injured worker.</li><li>We engage with the government and the auto-sector to improve safety in their supply chain. We aim to train 1,000+ workers in safety in FY21-22 and start a number of projects with the industry and the government.</li><li>We engage with ESIC to improve their services to workers and their families eg. ESIC has already issued more than 10 national notifications based on our recommendations. We aim to help ESIC disburse Rs100+ crore under the Covid19 unemployment scheme.</li><li>Already, 10,000+ workers made aware of their ESIC healthcare and safety entitlements.
