Talent exists everywhere. Opportunity does not.

For so many children studying in government schools in India, talent is not the problem. Opportunity is.

There are children with an incredible ability to draw, create, imagine and tell stories. But too often, they grow up without access to art teachers, mentorship, exposure or guidance that could help them understand where their talent can take them.

They may love art, but never meet an illustrator. They may enjoy creating, but never hear about design. They may have the potential to build a career in the creative world, but never get the chance to see that such a future is even possible.

At Artent Education Foundation, we are trying to change that. Through our program, Kalakriti Art School, we work with children in government schools to help them build not just artistic skills, but real pathways towards higher education and careers in the creative world.

Our students learn to draw, paint, sculpt, design and tell stories. But their journey does not stop in the classroom. They build portfolios. Meet artists and designers. Showcase their work. Receive feedback from professionals. Explore different creative careers. And slowly, they begin to see themselves differently. Not just as children who enjoy art, but as artists, designers and creators with a future in this space.

And we have already begun to see what happens when access changes. Over the last year, our students spent more than 250 hours learning and creating through four courses and two showcases. They explored drawing, painting, sculpting, craft, visual storytelling and design thinking. Students who once saw art as simply an interest began stepping into opportunities they had never imagined for themselves. Some participated in competitions. Some led art workshops. Some worked on real projects. And some took on commissioned work, interned with artists and began teaching others.

These are not just milestones. They are turning points.

For us, every child in our program will have the opportunity to discover what they are capable of and pursue a future that matches their aspirations. That could mean getting into an art or design college. It could mean interning with an artist. It could mean taking on paid creative projects. It could mean a job, freelancing or building something of their own.

This year, we are taking the next step towards this vision.

This year, we are taking Artent beyond the classroom and beyond the cities where we started. We have expanded into remote regions, working with local youth to build creative skills that respond to the opportunities and industry requirements around them.

We are expanding our reach to 100 students, while continuing to strengthen what happens beyond the classroom. From introducing skills like branding and visual communication into our curriculum to building an Industry Board of artists, designers and creative professionals, we are working to ensure that our students don't just learn creative skills, but are connected to the wider creative world.

₹500 — Help a child create and learn

Support the art and design materials and resources that make hands-on learning possible—from drawing and painting to design and creative projects.

₹1,000 — Support a month of creative learning

Help a student access a month of structured art and design education, including new skills such as branding and visual communication.

₹5,000 — Support a child for three months

Give a student sustained access to art and design education, creative resources and opportunities to build skills that connect with the wider creative industry.

₹10,000 — Open the world beyond the classroom

Help create meaningful exposure for our students—from meeting artists and designers to showcasing their work, receiving professional guidance and understanding the many pathways available within the creative economy.

Every contribution will help us reach and support more students this year, including children and youth in regions where access to creative education and industry exposure remains limited.
