Support young entrepreneurs to secure sustainable livelihoods.

With over 54% of India's population under 25, there is a significant demographic opportunity. Amidst challenges of unemployment and the employability gap among conventionally educated youth, entrepreneurship, particularly micro-enterprises have emerged as an avenue of economic empowerment and a way of meeting the aspirations of youth.

Navya Disha's Yuva Udyami is a program to nurture and empower young entrepreneurs. Our program model addresses the hurdles faced by aspiring entrepreneurs, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities in the long run. Entrepreneurs receive mentoring support for 3-5 years to foster the growth of their enterprises.

The project currently supports young entrepreneurs in Tumkur district of Karnataka, India. The program intends to have the following outcomes:

• 120 youth will be identified and receive training in enterprise development.
• All entrepreneurs receive assistance in developing their business plans and securing financial support from financial institutions.
• At least 75% of entrepreneurs successfully launch their micro-enterprises by the end of the first year.
• Each enterprise achieves an annual turnover of INR 30 lakhs after one year in business.
• Each enterprise will employ between one and two employees.
