Supporting Covid Response for Urban Poor in Mumbai

Attached is a video of our Covid support till January 2021.

Currently we are doing the following 5 things to support the Covid response in Mumbai

1) Support the Municipal Corporation to setup and operate a 150 bedded Covid Care Center Level 2, including with Oxygen Concentrators.

2) Support the Municipal workers on the field by supplementing with provisions like medicines, PPE, consummables, etc

3) Provide Oxygen Concentrators to CoViD Care Centers in other cities and nearby areas like Palghar, Bangalore, Chamrajnagar, Ahmedabad, etc

4) Conduct a 2-week Rejuvenation course for people with mild to moderate symptoms or people who are recovering from Covid

5) Provide non-Covid medical services at less than 50% of cost. Access to Affordable Primary Healthcare Services has been a challenge for the urban poor of Mumbaikars during the COVID Pandemic due to 2 reasons (1) The public health system has been busy fighting COVID (2) Private providers are either not providing service or are charging a 200 to 500% premium on their usual rates.

The 18 clinics of Swasth in the slums of Mumbai have been open right throughout the Pandemic, including the peak Lockdown and have served 35,000+ patients by providing comprehensive primary care (doctor consultation, diagnostics, medicines and procedures) in the slums of Mumbai either free or at less than 50% of the regular prices.
