Sustainable Menstrual Hygiene - Biodegradable Sanitary Napkins Distribution

There are nearly 355 million women and girls of menstruating age in India today. Yet, a majority of them have no access to sanitary pads and are unable to manage their menstrual hygiene with dignity.

Covid-19 has significantly worsened the economic conditions of the under-privileged and the affordability of sanitary products.

Environmentally Friendly: Deliver environmentally safe, hygienic pads to women and girls in need. 

In Karnataka, PadsSquad in collaboration with Aarogya Seva will be procuring and distributing economical biodegradable pads and reusable pads to 5000 women for 1 year.

FUNDRAISE GOAL: INR 30,00,000 (INR 600 = 1 year of pads supply for 1 person)

Your contribution matters:  

• INR 600 sustains one woman or girl for a minimum of 1 year
• INR 3000 sustains five women or girls for a minimum of 1 year
• INR 6000 sustains ten women or girls for a minimum of 1 year
• INR 12000 sustains twenty women or girls for a minimum of 1 year

Pre-identified communities: We have identified slum-dwellers, tribal women, migrant workers, low-income construction workers who simply cannot afford pads in Varthur, Doddigunta, Lingarajapuram, LR Nagar, and Ambedkar Nagar (Koramangla), KGF, and 2 schools supporting disabled girls. Identifying communities helps us stay in touch and do more for them, as per their specific needs.

Education and Constant support: During the distribution of pads, the PadSquad team educates these women on menstrual health and hygiene and connects them to helpline numbers to access gynecologists absolutely free.

Aarogya Seva is striving to combat growing public health risks and improve access to healthcare for communities in India as a result of COVID-19. This specifically addresses challenges for marginalized women to gain access to feminine hygiene products and many NGOs and community members are expressing the need for these resources in their communities.
