Teach to Transform: Support Science & Math Education for 104 Wastepicker Children

Teachers' Day honours the incredible impact that educators have on shaping futures. But for many children, the dream of learning remains out of reach. These are the wastepicker children, living in the shadow of toxic waste dumps, where they are often destined to inherit their parents' hazardous profession. Without access to quality study support, especially in crucial subjects like science and maths, these children, particularly girls, are trapped in a cycle of poverty and health risks. Unable to keep pace with school, they face pressure to drop out to support their families. Their potential remains untapped, their dreams distant.

Chintan’s GenNext program provides quality education through skilled educators

Chintan’s GenNext program provides quality education through study support classes for wastepicker children through skilled and qualified teachers, with special emphasis on science and math.

At Chintan’s 27 learning centers across Delhi NCR, we offer study support classes, digital literacy, STEM education, and leadership training. We also ensure that students are enrolled in schools, setting them on a path towards mainstream education. Nearly two-thirds of our students are girls, breaking gender barriers and proving that education is the key to a better life.

Why Science and Maths Teachers?

Science and Maths are crucial subjects that build the foundation of STEM careers that can open up a world of possibilities for these children. A transforming, growing India needs more STEM education based skills for its economic ambitions. By supporting the salaries of dedicated science and maths teachers, you are not just funding education—you are investing in the future leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers.

How You Can Help?
