The Project

The Rakshin Project trains individuals to become Rakshins, Preventors of Harm, prepared to prevent, identify, and intervene in cases of child sexual abuse. In collaboration with the Directorate of NSS, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, we are mobilising:

 4 million youth across 40,000 colleges

Since 2018, The Rakshin Project has:

 Trained 100,000+ Rakshins across 25 states and 5 union territories

Rakshins are trained to:

• Recognise sexually abusive behaviour and lead conversations

• Address the abuser and call out the behaviour.

• Identify allies and ensure the child’s immediate safety.

• De-escalate the situation and create safe spaces

• Report the abuse through appropriate channels

• Support survivors and aid in healing from trauma.

Why CSA Matters

CSA isn’t just a crime—it’s a lifelong burden survivors are forced to carry.

 39% of CSA survivors experience severe depression or PTSD

Many suffer from self-harm or suicidal thoughts.

 27% drop out of school due to bullying, shame, and emotional trauma

 Survivors are also at greater risk of chronic illnesses later in life

CSA strips children of their safety, their confidence, and sometimes, their futures.

But prevention is possible with timely support, education, and accountability.
