We run a school meal programme that provides children studying in government schools with freshly cooked, healthy meals. Our programme, the largest of its kind, is spread across nine states and feeds 1.8 million children everyday.

Nearly 13.5 million children in India do not attend school. Their circumstances force them into menial labour rather than seeking education. For those children who are fortunate enough to attend, hunger impairs their performance levels and decreases their capacity to learn.

Our program helps toward the universalization of primary education. As this meal is often their only source of nutrition, it drives children to school.

We have both centralised and decentralised kitchens so that children in the more remote regions of India are fed. Our kitchens strive to ensure all meals are healthy, nutritious and meet the requirements of a growing child.

Also, as our kitchens are run by women from the surrounding villages, it creates employment for hundreds of women, making them financially independent. With the vision of 'No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger', the foundation aims to reach out to 5 million children by 2020.
