Across India, thousands of people affected by leprosy, especially the elderly and persons with disabilities, have been thrown out of their homes, rejected by their families, and erased by society. Many have lost fingers, toes, eyesight, or mobility. Some cannot cook. Some cannot walk. Some cannot even hold a glass of water.

But the deepest wounds are not on their bodies, they are in their hearts because people are afraid to touch them, afraid to sit beside them and even afraid to acknowledge they exist.

Many survive by begging outside temples, railway stations, or on footpaths. When it rains, they have no shelter. When they fall sick, they have no one. When hunger strikes, they often sleep without food.

This is where NLR India becomes their last hope.
