COVID-19 has pushed many girls back into crisis. ●      1 in every 4 girls is living in a country affected by conflict or disaster●      Every 3 seconds another girl becomes a child bride●  	Every 2 minutes, 1 girl dies because they don’t have access to clean water 
 The plan is to:●      Educate: Ensure that girls aren’t mercilessly pulled out of schools●      Eradicate: To ensure that social evils like early marriage or motherhood are eradicated●  Elevate: Communities by helping the girls around 
 Through this campaign, we were able to change many lives and we intend to change many more.

Over the years we have helped communities throughout India to support themselves so that children, especially girls are able to access their rights. Plan India currently works in 14 states across 19,000 communities in 5,500 villages/ slums and has touched the lives of 1.9 million children, out of which over a million are girl.Brief description of the intervention India is home to more than 400 million children, the highest in the world. Millions of these children do not have access to their basic rights and necessities like education, nutrition, and health care.The pandemic adversely impacting livelihoods and education in the last few years, the need to support and invest in issues that impact children from underprivileged communities, especially girls has become more crucial than ever. The existence of severe girl child bias in our country, coupled with the loss of livelihoods during the pandemic often tend to affect girl child of underprivileged families the most.It is the need of the hour to address this long-standing issue, which is expected to worsen given the uncertainties of the current socioeconomic climate, inflation, and other factors.Plan India addresses this issue with our various programs and creates a ripple effect, that not only empowers the children but it also improves the development indicators of India.SPONSOR A CHILD TODAY to give hope and gift her a bright future!
