Transforming Abilities

The project aims to work in the area of disability where it looks at 2 main concerns which are interlinked - One is to raise awareness about the need for holistic and systemic support needed by people with disabilities. The other is to dispel a lot of incorrect assumptions and perceptions that abound about people with disabilities hampering their true inclusion into the mainstream,

We aim to leverage the power of theatre to create awareness and encourage real inclusion. The actors would be people with disabilities (visual, hearing, locomotive) and they will devise and develop performances that are based on their own life experiences and incidents. In this way, the performances would be very authentic, powerful, and relatable.

By performing these, we endeavour that the; larger community can realize the potential that is untapped due to lack of inclusion and steps are taken for greater inclusion. We also endeavour that this would dispel many wrong assumptions about people with disability. Through this project, we aim to create forums of discussion and concerted action both at individual, community, and systemic levels.
