Tribal school children and community eye screening cum spectacle distribution Project

Due to COVID19 pandemic, all schools went under lockdown leading to most of the children learning through mobile phones and other online programmes. Because of these reasons, the incidence of Refractive Errors among children has increased mutlifold. Some of them would develop amblyiopic conditions also, which if left unrectified at school going age itself ; would lead to partial blindness lifelong. As we all know that accessibility to eye screening facilities are very far in Tribal and rural areas ; the lockdown and curfew have further distanced early correction of refractive errors among children and teachers. Neither are they aware about their eye conditions. 

This project will provide spectacle those who affected with Refractive Errors. Also we will train local teachers in vision screening and referrals. We will plan to do eye screening for about 5000 Tribal school children and 5000 community people  for vision screening in the year of 2021-2022.

We are Planning to conduct eye screening for 5000 Tribal rural school children and 5000 communities.( in 100 camps )

Around 500 students  and 2500 public will receive spectacle at free of cost.
