In India 8% student affected refractive error and due to COVID-19 all schools under lock-down leading to most of children learning through mobile phone and other online programme, because of this reason the incidence of Refractive error among the children are multi-fold. Some of them would develop amblyopia. It would be partial blindness lifelong. As we all know that accessibility of eye screening facilities are very far in tribal and rural areas. SCF is committed to address this issue and wants to bring early, easy and affordable eye screening and dispensing spectacle to those in need.
SCF will do eye screening programme in various tribal schools and provide spectacle those who need. Also will train local teacher in vision screening and referrals. Trained local teacher will do vision screening and identify defective vision students in next year. SCF will organize camp only defective students so screening time will save.
We are planing to conduct eye screening for 20,000 tribal & remote rural students 500 teachers will get trained as sight ambassador and they will do vision screening in future year. Around 2,000 students will receive spectacle at free of cost.
