Aarti Kumari, Suman Yadav, and Lakshmi Rani have carried a burden heavier than most can imagine—not just the weight of poverty but also the stigma of being HIV+. Life pushed them into a corner, stripping them of opportunities and leaving them to fight every day for survival.

But even in darkness, they held onto hope.

Through Purnkuti’s mobilization efforts, they found their way to us—hesitant, uncertain, but still dreaming of a life where they were more than just their diagnosis. Through counseling and emotional support, they gained the strength to rewrite their stories.

Determined to break free from the chains of stigma, they enrolled in PROJECT DHARA, our vocational training program. With every stitch they learned, they stitched back the self-worth society had tried to take from them. Little by little, they regained their confidence, proving that they were capable, talented, and worthy of a dignified life.

But despite their skills, one challenge remained—they lacked the tools to start over.

That’s where we step in together. Purnkuti not only trained them in stitching but also provided business development training—helping them understand pricing, customer management, and how to run their own business.

Now, with your support, we are ready to provide them with Sewing Machines as Business Startup Kits. These machines are more than just tools; they are a second chance, a path to independence, and a way to rebuild their lives with dignity. With them, these women can increase their income by 20-25%, ensuring a stable and self-sufficient future.
