Government school students are from economically weaker sections of society, hence they lack exposure to modern forms of learning. Government schools lack the funds needed to provide a better quality of teaching content, teaching professionals, and teaching aids. Student enrollment between Classes 1 to 9 in Karnataka schools has dropped by 43% in the academic year 2015-16, calling for a stronger motivation for students. In traditional teaching, there is a high dependence on regular textbooks and teacher’s ability. Teaching aids are mostly absent which compromises the quality of education.
Right To Live has various interventions to help improve students at Government Schools-
In the 4 years since Right To Live started supporting Government schools, we have touched the lives of over 8500+ students. Our Digital classrooms are running at 40 Government schools with academic (visual) content from India’s top Ed-Tech companies. Over 125 meritorious students from poor economic strata have been awarded education scholarships. We keep looking for new and innovative programs to make a deeper impact. Some of our latest programs are – student 1-to-1 mentoring; laptop donation to 10th standard students; Computer literacy; and more.
