URGENT APPEAL: Help the Flood-affected Communities in Kerala and Northeast India

7.5 lakh lives are at risk due to floods and landslides. Multiple lives are lost and the displaced number in tens of thousands. Hundreds of homes and farmlands are destroyed, leaving families in Kerala and Northeast India displaced.. 

In Assam- 5.35 lakh+ people have been affected, 3,524 hectares of cropland damaged and 235,193 livestock impacted

In Kerala- over 700 homes are damaged or destroyed while 57.33 lakh people faced power outages with over ₹120 crore damage to the power sector alone.

In Manipur- 19,811 people are affected across 103 villages and 3,365 homes are damaged. Even Major hospitals, including JNIMS in Imphal, were flooded. 

HAI and LOCAL have begun providing immediate emergency assistance:

Community volunteers, and ground teams have initiated rescue and rehabilitation efforts, distribution of relief kits, running temporary shelters, supporting vulnerable families, and strengthening community-led response.

But their reach is limited by resources.
