Days of unrelenting cloud bursts and flash floods have caused havoc across several parts of Himachal Pradesh, and in the state of Uttarakhand. The state has been hit by close to a dozen flash floods, 19 cloud bursts and 16 landslides in the last few days. Vehicles have been swept away, buildings reduced to rubble, and essential bridges have been washed out. Moreover, many villages still remain under threat as rain fury continues. With the rising death toll across Himachal, the impact on the communities is profound.
