Campaign by Anand Memorial Trust
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela
Witnessing such a powerful transformation in the last few years, our dreams got even bigger in supporting more kids as part of my birthday campaign. Anand Memorial Trust is raising financial support for education.
The roots of children are different, their journeys are different, and their challenges are different but the children’s aspirations are the same to break out of poverty and lead a meaningful life. And we can make that dream come true.
This project will help keep ~75 poor children in school by helping to pay for necessary costs like tuition, exam fees, books & boarding costs. Most of these kids are in upper primary (grades 1 - 7) which is unaffordable for most of their parents/guardians. Most of them would drop out and become child laborers without external help.
This program “Vidya Nidhi” will contribute to increasing the level of education and improve the children's critical thinking skills so they make better life choices for themselves and their future families. Here are some potential long-term impacts of the project: Positive Role Models, Reduction in Gender Discrimination, Improved Family and Community Relationships, Impact on Future Generations, Enhanced Child Protection Mechanisms, Community Development, and Support for Sustainable Development Goals.
We have about 75 children (inclusive of children staying in Sphoorti) who require immediate support. The expense (including tuition fees, uniform, and transportation) per child per year is INR 30,000 on average.
Hence we are raising INR 22,50,000 to support as many as children we can.
Based on the queries, we are detailing the available options:
1. Donation of any amount (every single penny matters and means a lot to us)
2. Sponsoring a child in full (INR 30,000) or partial.
3. When you sponsor a child in full, you can select the child from the below or we will choose the child for you. Either way, you will know the details of the child and their progress in cadence.
Here is the link to the details of the children https://docs.google.com/document/d/1coT8PsTra-f3GSFoL9aAWuNy41ErQKGxXz2ueg9hues/edit?usp=sharing (updated on an ongoing basis).
We need your contribution and blessings to the children.
Kind Regards
Ramesh Manickavel, Anand Memorial Trust
“Thank you for being a reason for someone’s smile.” is the motto of Anand Memorial Trust and I can’t find better words to convey my gratitude to you than this.
We have reached 86% of our goal today which means Anand Memorial Trust has raised funds for 65 children (out of which we have 30 dedicated sponsors for children) so far.
Since all the children are either staying at Sphoorti or supported by Sphoorti (https://sphoorti.org/), I met Srivyal Vuyyrui (Managing Trustee of Sphoorti) and discussed the next steps a week ago.
We are currently working on a communication plan about the progress of the sponsored children. Also during the campaign, some kind souls mentioned that they would like to support the children in many other ways (coaching/life skill program/teaching, etc.,). This means a lot to us and we need all the support to groom the children for their better future. Thank you for this.
Thank you once again. We are looking forward to your continued support. Please share and support: https://give.do/fundraisers/vidya-nidhi-campaign
Thank you for being a reason for someone’s smile.
With gratitude and kind regards

We received USD 1000 (INR 80000) for the campaign from a kind soul. Hence updating the target to 2158000 INR
We have received a total of INR 15,01,921 (INR 14,09,921 through campaign + INR 92000 through other modes) against the target of 22,50,000 INR. Thus we are at 67% as of today and the important point is that we have received funds to support 50 children so far!
THANK YOU so much for your continued support and contribution.
