Story

In many families, blind girls are often seen as a burden—a harsh reality that leaves many of them abandoned, neglected, and deprived of opportunities. Families often feel, "If we spend money on them, it would be useless", shares Ramesh Singh a blind teacher committed to providing care and education the blind girls deserve.

Sadly, many blind girls are forced to grow up in isolation and denied the education and care they deserve. But amidst this darkness, there is a glimmer of hope. “Singh Sir” as he is fondly called, is on a mission but he cannot do it alone. Support this blind teacher in transforming lives. How it began

In 2005, Ramesh Prasad Singh, a blind teacher who has personally experienced the struggles faced by blind children, founded the Bhartiya Netraheen Kalyan Parishad. His mission? To rescue blind girls from neglect and give them a chance to thrive.

"People think this girl is a lifelong burden for us," Ramesh says. "But as soon as the girl gets a job, the same family starts hounding her."

Over the years, the nonprofit has provided food, shelter, and admission fees for college to blind girls, ensuring they are not trapped within four walls but instead empowered to pursue their dreams.

At the heart of Bhartiya Netraheen Kalyan Parishad is a home—a safe haven for blind girls where they receive education, care, and the tools to build a better future. These girls are not just surviving; they are thriving. They are becoming independent, proving that blindness is not a limitation but a stepping stone to resilience and strength.

But Ramesh cannot continue this mission alone.

He appeals to you to join hands and support Bhartiya Netraheen Kalyan Parishad.

Why your contribution counts

  • Nutritious meals for blind girls
  • Safe and secure shelter
  • Admission fees and educational support

"We appeal to each person to support our mission and make a difference," Ramesh urges.

Together, we can ensure these girls are no longer seen as burdens but as empowered individuals ready to lead fulfilling lives.
