Vulnerable Impacted Families in Bengaluru - Family Strengthening Program

Project description:  The state of crisis caused by COVID-19, children and families in more than 24 locations across India are among the worst affected population due to their poor economic backgrounds and social vulnerabilities. SOS India is committed to respond to the emergent needs of these marginalized groups consisting poorest of the poor, schedule castes, schedule tribes, migrants and other socially backward groups.

Objective of partnership: In collaboration with Give India, we wish to conduct following activities for a total of 190 children and their respective mothers in Bengaluru location

Activity Details - 2021 - FSP - Bengaluru

Workshop on Career guidance above 7th std children

Educational support through remedial education center at Ragigudda - Regular weekly 6 days

Education materials and partial school fees support for 160 children

Workshop on Child rights - above 5th std children

Workshop on Life Skills - 5th std and above

Workshop on Personality Development - 7th std and above

Vocational Training to education dropped youths

Workshop on Entrepreneurship Development Programme to train caregivers related to Livelihood

Child Rights ; Parenting Skill

Skill training - Dress Designing, Beautician and ICT

Facilitation and regular follow up of 9 active SHGs

Seed Money to Sarvodaya, Sanchaya, Belaku and Samasta Women Self Help Groups

Medical camps and HB test, BMI basement - Every 6 months

Awareness Programme on Health and Hygiene - to train the caregiver

Awareness Programme on Health and Hygiene - to train the Children

Workshop on Balanced Diet for caregivers

Nutrition support - up to 60 children who are malnourished

Impact will be to ensure proper schooling, hygiene, sanitation, digital learning to overall 190 children. And making their mothers hence the entire family self-sustainable by ensuring Income generating activities for all.
