Story

With recent talks on climate change, we all want to make sure we as humans get a better quality of life in terms of non-polluting cities, better air quality and non-polluting transport systems and are at some point we are also ready to make behaviour changes and look towards this issue more holistically we often miss the stretch our Wildlife is facing.

While humanity is modernising, we also need to look at the cohabitants of the same planet which make it richer and much more than just a human life planet. We have organizations like the Centre for Wildlife Studies who are working not only researching the endangered species, which started with Tigers as an Initiative by Dr Ullas K Karanth and resulted in a greater population of Tigers and now ranges to more species but also towards researching human and wildlife interaction.

Human-Wildlife interaction once again came into the limelight very recently with a pregnant elephant dying in Kerala who tried eating a pineapple filled with explosives. The case was not first but we need to make sure that human-wildlife interaction is more pleasant and forgiving to wildlife than harming them. This is where the Centre for Wildlife Studies has mastered its groundwork and has helped thousands of people.

In different programs, the Centre for Wildlife Studies is working with people in the villages close to wildlife protected areas who suffer human-wildlife conflict more and to train them on how to deal with such conflicts to safeguard themselves as well as not to harm the wildlife. If such instances happen how the affected people claim compensation from the government for the loss.

It would be my humble appeal to you to consider donating to the Centre for Wildlife Studies who is doing tremendous work for 37 years.
