SAMADHAN is an established NGO, registered in 1981. It was registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI 1860. Over the past 41 years, we have established services for early identification and intervention for children either born “at-risk” for developmental delay or born with any conditions of disability. Our philosophy is that all persons with intellectual disabilities can be helped if appropriate and timely services are available. Over the years, we have effectively transferred this philosophy into action and developed a viable model of service delivery linking services for the intellectually disabled with the needs of their mothers and of the women in the community, using locally available resources.We provide an infrastructure of accessible services like Early Intervention, School Readiness Programs and Special Education for children with intellectual disabilities, especially for the families from the low-income groups, in Delhi. Our approach includes early detection, motivating caregivers and advocating with schools and community stakeholders.
