Youth Empowerment and Social Transformation Program & UNXT - Employability Skills training

India has a large percentage of youth who do not have access to formal / higher education. Around 45% of them don’t even reach the 10th standard. Underprivileged youth by and large lack of direction and purpose in life. Left unattended, these youth could potentially turn to be non-productive and end up being anti-social elements in society. Transforming such youth into self-respecting, confident individuals, capable of making the right choices in life is our mission.

Unnati was founded with a singular aim to harness the potential of every youth of the country, mold him/her to become a self-reliant, productive workforce for the country, and to provide them with a sustainable livelihood. Unnati helps the youth of the nation to dream big and equips them to pursue their goals so that they become change agents in the society from where they come. Unnati has a laudable vision of providing skill development training supporting placement for 1 million youth in the country thereby contributing immensely towards reducing unemployment in the country. Unnati is also about transforming the youth, being relevant to the needs of the market, ensuring that the youth trained to have a job after the training and are able to progress in their jobs. “The essence of good work is always connected to the impact”.

Not only the youth who undergo training get benefitted the whole families of the youth are also able to get benefited.

Our Mission: To serve different sections of society, bringing about harmony through focused programs.

Basically, there are two programs conducted by SUF for employability.

• Unnati, the vocational training program: Unnati”s VTP Programme model is designed for 300 hours of rigorous training, running 7 batches in a year, duration of every 35 days.
• UNXT, the finishing type of program conducted for the final year youth. A 30 day imparting 160 of the training program in Govt. Colleges. 

We have been functioning for several years through individual donations and through CSR funds. We have been continuously working to keep our costs down and we can definitely say that ours is the lowest-cost model in the country if you compare considering the number of hours of training etc. We are continuously trying our best to make the program as sustainable as possible. Though it may sound easily doable we do face issues when it comes to implementation.

Our UNXT is a huge offering to the youth from underprivileged communities. We are yet to scale this program in a big way. We could actually look at co-branding etc if this program of ours gets huge support. This is a very low cost but very high impact program and has been acknowledged well by the Govt of Karnataka. It has the potential to scale to over a lakh of youth in a short period of time. We offer this program at different locations of Karnataka and in Bangalore at various Govt. college. The program has proved to be a big hit, we have a Govt. mandate to do 25000 youth. The details of the UNXT program are already shared with you in the ppt. It is 100 hours in class and 60 hours of E-learning classes.
