Zero waste is not garbage-free. Zero waste is to prevent the dumping of garbage in public places and do recycling.

In today's time, even though there is enough awareness about garbage, we have not been able to control garbage. The garbage is increasing day by day in the town. On an average, more than one kg of biodegradable and non biodegradable garbage is generated per household per day. Even though biodegradable waste does not affect us in a big way, non biodegradable garbage is a big problem for us. On an average, in a household having one kg of garbage that is mostly filled with non biodegradable garbage. Animals consume non-biodegradable plastic waste dumped in public places and their health is affected.

Garbage waste generation cannot be prevented, but can be reduced

Our aim…

To create a clean and hygienic environment by creating awareness and training every household on all types of garbage waste to clean and recycle.

Our plan...

Waste has a huge impact on climate change in our environment.

Step 1...

Garbage will be removed from public places and trees will be planted. This will prevent the accumulation of garbage.

Step 2...

Awareness banners and color garbage collection bins will be put up on street-wise segregation of garbage and its reuse method with the help of volunteers. Awareness and training will be provided so that biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste is segregated in each household and dumped in those bins. We will take efforts to prevent dumping of garbage in public as far as possible. The people of the area will be trained for 3 months on waste segregation through volunteers.

Step 3...

Awareness programmes on 'Zero Waste' will be conducted in schools and colleges to create awareness among students. (Non biodegradable garbage will be collected as part of the programmes.)

The benefits of our program...

When garbage is reduced, dumping, burying and burning of garbage in ponds, rivers, hilltops, railway tracks and roadsides in cities will also be reduced. Animals will be protected from pollution caused by garbage.

Is this plan feasible?

While providing continuous awareness and training for 3 months will change the mindset of the people. People can reduce the impact of garbage only by correcting the small mistakes they make.
