Adarsh Charitable Trust (ACT) is a registered non-profit NGO established in 1998. The main objective of the Trust is to rehabilitate persons with mental and physical challenges. Now the Trust has entered in to 17th year of service in the rehabilitation of differently abled children. The Trust runs its main Centre at Kureekad near Tripunithura where around 270 children afflicted with Cerebral Palsy, Autism and Down syndrome undergo rehabilitation. The Trust also runs a Child Developmental Evaluation, Intervention and Research Centre at Vyttila, Kochi where on an average 70 children with learning disorders receive rehabilitation care. The Centre also provides Comprehensive Evaluation cum Assessment for children with all kinds of developmental problems. In the home based rehabilitation project run by the Trust in 11 Panchayats in Ernakulam District, 110 children receive rehabilitation care at their homes with the specialist team visiting them two times a week. The Trust also runs a High Risk Baby Unit for identifying potential disabilities in new borns.
