Stray dogs and other animals on the streets live a life of acute deprivation. The most painful part is the manner in which they meet their end–lonely and helpless. While some may sustain grave injuries after being run over by vehicles, others are at the risk of starvation and illness. Often, people ignore their plight as they are strays. But not Sudha Narayanan. It’s been almost a decade since Sudha decided to set up a hospital and shelter home for stray dogs and other animals. Sudha’s NGO Charlie’s Animal Rescue Centre (CARE), since its inception in 2013, has saved the lives of thousands of stray animals with urgent trauma care and medical help. Sudha has shouldered a significant amount of the cost of treatment for these animals for a decade. Sudha says, “People pour acid on stray dogs and cats. They are beaten, have their legs broken and even sexually abused…injured animals often receive no care or attention from people around them. The NGO’s rescue helpline receives numerous calls throughout the day. CARE’s team brings the rescued animals to its trauma care centre, where the sick and the injured are admitted and taken care of. With the help of proper medical care the animals are nursed back to health. The animals who are no longer fit to survive on their own due to serious injuries are kept in the NGO’s shelter home which is currently home to over 150 stray animals including dogs, cats, birds etc. The struggle to stay afloatWith their rescue helplines ringing off the hook and the number of helpless animals increasing with each passing day, CARE is finding it difficult to keep going. “The number of animals we save and shelter are increasing continuously. And if we don't get the support we require, unfortunately these animals will also be left without anybody to look after them. We need a huge amount of money for critical care medicines, for animal care items and for the essential food needed for the sick and injured animals. This sometimes leads to miscarriages, too. Adarsh Mahila Griha Udyog (AMGU) is a registered trust and society operational in the Latur district of the Marathwada region of Maharashtra state in India. The organization was formed in 1976 by educated and socially aware women driven by a passion to empower rural women. Since its inception, AMGU worked on the socio-economic and political empowerment of women by addressing issues like health, education, violence, employment, livelihood, participation in governance. AMGU operates in 152 villages of the Latur district and has contacts with 50,000 rural women and their households. Their work focuses on organizing women into Self Help Groups (SHGs), developing their capacities, promoting linkages and resourcing them with a view to help women address their own issues.AMGU is closely involved in addressing issues of gender justice, trafficking amongst women and girls, Violence Against Women, illiteracy amongst girl children, female foeticide, health care amongst adolescent girls, unemployment, etc. The organization has initiated several programmatic measures such as awareness, mobilization of government schemes and programs for women and girls, vocational training and credit support to address these issues. Addressing the rural livelihood needs for women AMGU created opportunities through vocational training and awareness of sustainable agriculture practices. To sustain the village development processes, AMGU concentrated on strengthening SHGs, promotion of community-level health and sanitation practices, support and guidance through counselling centres, the introduction of the eco-village, organic farming practices and linkages with government development programs/schemes.Adarsh Mahila Griha Udyog had initiated and successfully implemented various projects on, Sadbhavana Counselling centre, Jute and tailoring training, Dowry Project, Jidnyasa and Deepshikha for Adolescent girls and boys, Kitchen Garden, Padmshri Subhash Palekar’s Zero Budget Natural and Spiritual farming. Empowerment of youths and skill development and strong efforts in the Latur and Udgir block.

ZBNF farming is a blessing of nature for all small and marginal landholders because at present, farmers have to resort to debt to pay the huge cost of chemicals etc. for farming and this debt burden keeps increasing. Farmers are not only getting into debt by using chemical fertilizers, pesticides and pesticides but are also cultivating poison in the fields. This poison goes into our body through cereals &amp; vegetables. Due to this serious diseases like cancer, heart attack, and blood pressure are continuously spreading. If we want to keep our family &amp; society healthy then we have to return to natural farming. After the gap of every 21 days spraying Jivamrut and biopesticide is done as a natural fertilizer and also does not destroy the fertility of the land. We need to implement that project to strengthen the soil by using Ghanjivamrut, Bijamrut, Jivamrut and other biopesticides, used in Zero Budget Natural and Spiritual farming. To get nutritious, Poison free food or fresh green vegetables by using the ZBNF technique which is guided by Padmashri Subhash Palekar, to get more yield with less expenditure as good as zero, to make people free from diseases like cancer, diabetes, kidney problems by using poison-free food, the farmers in the rural area need guidance about Zero Budget Natural and Spiritual Farming which uses Ghanjivamrut, Bijamrut and Jivamrut which is made out of native Indian cow’s urine and cow dung which can be easily available in the rural area. 
 The first step is selecting women farmers and small landholder farmers from 10 villages from the Latur district. Train them in detail about ZBNF technique and farming explain to them the importance of ZBNF farming and Kitchen-garden. ZBNF technique includes how to prepare Ghanjivamrut, Bijamrut, Jivamrut and its use in farming. It is a unique chemical-free method that uses Indian native cows cow dung and urine, Jaggary flour of pulse water and soil. It relies on the agricultural economy. It is promoted and guided by agriculturist Padmshri Shri.Subhash Palekar. Due to the application of Jivamrut— a mixture of fresh cow-dung, urine of Indian native cows, Jaggery, pulse flour, water and soil — on farmland, the crop grows strong and the yield is more . .Seeds will be sowed by applying Bijamrut. Every grain needs a minimum of three sprays of Jivamrut after 21 days of interval. The soil also becomes more fertile because of the use of Jivamrut. It is a natural Bio culture that has proved to be very useful to the farmers It gives strength to grains to fight against any insects as its immunity power is increased. The follow up of farmers in detail will be taken by the AMGU’s fieldworkers.Giving diaries to farmers to note down daily work by them.
