Traffickers beat them with rods, burn them, and mutilate their private parts just to break them. At AGRO RANGERS, we are generating sustainable livelihoods for farmers by gaining economic resilience through regenerative agroforestry.

Livelihood

<a href="https://agrorangers.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">AGRO RANGERS</a> is a young non-profit organization working at the grassroots level for the betterment of small and marginal farmers. We launched in December 2019, after finding that average organic carbon in the farmland soil was less than 0.5% in our village. Under the government's soil health mission project in the Vigyan Ashram organization, we tested more than 5000 soil samples of farmland from 10 villages and found that 90% of our soil was nitrogen deficient and becoming more infertile day by day.	Poor quality of soil reduces soil fertility and crop yield. Nowadays, many farmers are using chemical fertilizers to increase the production of their farms. However, this contributes to many problems which affect the soil and may cause health issues. In addition to that, crop losses are becoming more frequent as a result of climate change's effects on the environment. All of these issues raise the need to curb harmful conditions and work together to improve soil quality to secure the jobs of farmers and increase food production.  After having a closer look at this situation, these problems motivated our founder and the other 6 youngsters to find a solution to fix soil degradation and rejuvenate the soil. Therefore, we founded AGRO RANGERS. We promoted organic farming instead of chemical use in farming to prevent soil degradation and sustain farmers' income. It is very difficult to make organic farming economically viable. We experimented with different organic farming models such as multilayer farming, natural farming, agroforestry, and mixed cropping. We found out that Agroforestry was one of the fastest ways to soil rejuvenation and provide sustainable income to farmers. The agroforestry model improves soil quality, mitigates climate change effects, reduces farming input costs, and generates sustainable income for farmers during different seasons throughout the year. We envision empowering small and marginal farmers by rejuvenating their farmlands through intercropping farming-based agroforestry.		At AGRO RANGERS, we recognize that degraded soil quality poses a significant threat to the livelihoods of farmers and contributes to the cycle of poverty. As chemical farming is a leading cause of soil degradation and contributes to climate change effects, we promote chemical-free alternative farming practices such as regenerative organic farming.		Our team of AGRO RANGERS conducts a thorough evaluation of soil, water, and climatic conditions to provide farmers with customized and resilient farming solutions. We support farmers in the implementation of tried and tested climate-resilient regenerative agroforestry interventions on their farmland. Our program provides agroforestry saplings, drip irrigation systems, biofertilizers, and post-plantation care support to the farmers at incentivized costs. 		Our goal at AGRO RANGERS is to rejuvenate farmland soil quality, increase crop production, improve adaptation and mitigation of climate change impacts, and enhance economic resilience by diversifying crops. We aim to equip farmers with the necessary tools and knowledge to achieve sustainable farming practices that benefit both their livelihoods and the environment.
