Ammucare is partnering with an NGO which is providing rescue shelter for girls with high risk profile, in the age group of 7-15 years, who were molested and abused in different ways. These girls have been rescued by a group of passionate ex-army service professionals, and they are kept in a rescue home till the legal proceedings go on. Currently, the non-profit organization is taking care of the food, shelter and educational needs of these girls, so they grow up and blossom like other normal kids of their age. Currently, there are 5 girls who have been admitted to a mainstream school. Therefore, the cost includes school fees, uniforms, tuitions, books etc. The current cost for each girl child in a Kannada medium school is 30000 rupees. We need to fund this for all 5 girls. 
 The NGO is looking after these girls in all aspects. Currently, we require sponsors for their full-time education. 
 The girls will be able to get proper education like other normal kids and this will help shape their lives, and in future help them stand on their own feet as economically independent individuals and responsible citizens.

Arunachala in Tiruvannamalai is considered the Kailash of the South, the abode of Lord Shiva. Many young ones bring their parents along since making a pilgrimage to this holy place is considered auspicious. Under this guise, there are many who conveniently abandon their ailing parents here. They leave them to suffer on footpaths, with no money to even buy a meal, let alone medicines for themselves. A noble soul, Ramana, has been taking care of 70 such elders. They live in a make-shift shelter which is so basic that if it rains, they need to run in search of places to keep themselves dry. Many are in dire need of basic essentials for daily sustenance, and constant medical support. With the onset of winter, they require blankets, sweaters, monkey caps, and footwear. 
 Ammucare is planning to do their best in providing them with the basic necessities of life. We can all be caring children to these abandoned parents. Our humble contributions will ensure these elders have a roof over their heads, food in their bellies and a hope that there is more to life. We have also done a medical camp for these elderly and identified the required prescriptions and other aids for their day to day existence and operations. Some of them require hearing aids, walkers, medicines, and, eye glasses. 
 These elderly people can live their lives without having to worry about fending themselves, which is next to impossible, given their age and medical conditions.

The state of starvation and malnutrition in India is worrisome. Statistics compiled by the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) show that while the sub-Saharan countries of Africa have the highest prevalence of hunger, in absolute terms, India has the highest number of undernourished people in the world.Hunger and undernourishment lead to severe problems. Children and youth in this state suffer from numerous nutritional deficiencies which adversely impact their overall health. Malnutrition in children under five also results in nearly half of the 1.3 million deaths occurring in the country each year. 
 It is our humble attempt to reach out to the needy and serve in our own small way. We believe in the old Indian saying which says &quot;Nar Sewa Hi Narayan Sewa&quot;, meaning, we serve God by serving people. Ammucare has been providing food to the hunger-stricken since the past 10 years in India and across various other countries in the world. We believe in first fulfilling the basic necessities of life for the needy, the primary one being good physical nourishment. Ammucare has been reaching out to different categories of people who live in orphanages or old age homes, or are specially-abled, and has been providing them with cooked food, groceries, stationary, blankets in winter, clothes etc. We also cater to other beings including birds, dogs, cows and provide the necessities across various animal shelters as well. We have centeres across Jhansi, Chennai, Bombay, Bangalore, Hyd, Hosur, Tirunelveli, Kolkata, Palakkad, Gurgaon, Jammu, Delhi, Jamshedpur, Assam and Pune. 
 Even if one persons hunger is satiated for one time, its a matter of great satisfaction! A stomach full of food and a proper shelter is all it takes to bring smiles on the faces on those who cannot even afford it.

Kerala is struggling with floods with unceasing rains throughout the state for past 10 days.The flood situation in Kerala continues to be grim with the death toll having risen to 100. The Met department has sounded a red alert for all the 14 districts. People are stranded in their homes, relief camps, and have no access to basic necessities.
