Anand Memorial Trust

There are two categories of children who need major intervention for their rehabilitation and relief. The first category is orphan/destitute children who lack parental care and guidance. If not taken care of, they might turn against society and become a liability. The second category of children belongs to families living in impoverished communities, often from the lower strata of society, earning livelihood through daily wage labour and menial jobs. The education of children is never given the importance it deserves. Most girls are married off as soon as they attain puberty and most boys drop out of school to pursue low-paying jobs. For these children, education is the only hope to break out of the vicious cycle of poverty and illiteracy. 
 Though we are currently targeting five supplementary education centres, the planned action is to set up as many study centres as possible. The goal is to provide study and teaching materials, supplementary nutrition food, and first aid kits for the children. The project also provides support to the teachers as they play a vital role in enabling children’s education. To ensure the program is going as per the plan, meetings are planned with teachers and parents. We have also planned for talent exhibiting events to motivate the children. 
 We aspire to serve as many children as possible. Enabling education along with the much needed nutritional food will help the children to break out of the vicious cycle of illiteracy.

The orphaned and destitute children require financial support to pursue college degrees (Bachelors and Masters). The various streams of their choice viz. Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy, Law, and Commerce require financial support for education as well as for living in a hostel. They don’t have any source of support from their parents or relatives and our support is their only hope. The recent pandemic situation worsened the situation where the parents have lost their jobs and the children had to drop off from school/colleges. 
 The children require funding for education (primarily school/college fees, study materials), food, and other living expenses. These children are provided admission to various colleges through entrance examinations (Engineering, Law, and Pharmacy) and based on their performance in Intermediate studies (Commerce, Sciences) and accommodation in a hostel.We aspire to serve as many children as possible. Your generosity and support will help to fulfill their dreams and shape up their future. 
 For the underprivileged children, education is the only hope to break out of the vicious cycle of poverty and illiteracy. Any financial support we provide to complete their studies makes a huge difference in their career and future.

We are currently working on a communication plan about the progress of the sponsored children. Also during the campaign, some kind souls mentioned that they would like to support the children in many other ways (coaching/life skill program/teaching, etc.,). We received USD 1000 (INR 80000) for the campaign from a kind soul. Hence updating the target to 2158000 INR We have received a total of INR 15,01,921 (INR 14,09,921 through campaign + INR 92000 through other modes) against the target of 22,50,000 INR. Thus we are at 67% as of today and the important point is that we have received funds to support 50 children so far! THANK YOU so much for your continued support and contribution.

It's exactly a month since we kickstarted the "Vidya Nidhi Campaign" with the primary objective of providing education support for ~75 children. And today my heart swells with happiness and gratitude in sharing we have raised a fund of INR 10,23,417 that supports 34 children for a year (out of 34, 16 children have dedicated sponsors).
