Anchalik Samrudhi Sadhana Anusthan (ASSA) is a not for profit organisation working with the small and marginal farmers to improve their income through sustainable livelihood. The core of ASSA ideology remains focused on fulfilling the needs and aspirations of the entire community including Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) within the project area. While livelihood expansion, the foundation on which we build our interventions, ASSA also addresses associated needs with programmes in Distress Migration, Health, Water and Sanitation for the holistic growth of the community. Our aim is to build resilience and give communities the tools to prosper in the long run.We identified several gaps in the area like small and marginalised landholdings, dependence on rain-fed agriculture, lack of access to advance agri-technology, no direct access to credit and markets, forced migration to make ends meet and persistent food security. ASSA’s core interventions areas are designed to overcome these challenges to provide long term prosperity. Core Intervention Areas:·                    Agriculture·                    Water and Sanitation·                    Disability·                    Health·                    WomenEmpowermentThe rural tribal communities of Western Odisha have specific challenges that keep them thriving, andASSA’s sustainable models of Comprehensive Livelihoods (broad components being economy, food and nutrition, gender, inclusion of ultra-poor, and vulnerable communities) is designed to overcome these road blocks to enhance livelihoods for a better future.We are a leading organisation working for the development of poor and marginal farmers including PWD farmers, women farmers, and youth in tribal district of Western Odisha. Our interventions have inculcated ideal norms and practices in rural people towards water management, health, nutrition, and sanitation. Apart from this we are able to uplift the economic status of poor and marginal farmers through farm and non - farm sustainable livelihood activities like Poultry, Goatery, MGNREGA, Mango plantation and linkage with Govt. schemes and services.We work with Women Self-Help Groups , Farmers Interest Group, Farmers Club, Farmers Producer company, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment (Govt. of Odisha), Odisha Millet Mission, Department of Horticulture, Social Security and Empowerment of PWD (SSEPD) Govt. of Odisha. NABARD, Panchayati Raj &amp; Drinking Water Department, Govt. of Odisha. Our Reach:We work in 2 districts namely Balangir and Kalahandi district covering 4 blocks and 126 villages. More than 2000 small and marginal farmers have been directly benefited from our project interventions. Our Key Achievement:1.     Our work has improved the health status of 2000 households through Safe drinking water management and sustainability programme,2.     Our work has improved the economic condition of 1350 Persons with Disabilities in four blocks covering 100 villages. Apart from this we also provided health care services (Physiotherapy) to children and senior citizens.3.     Our programme has ensured irrigation facilities to 8757 households for agricultural activities in 250 villages.
