“What will happen to them after me? I am 80+. I spend sleepless nights,” worries ex-Air Force officer, Group Captain AC Barua while talking about the future of the 28 destitute women under his care. “They have nobody in this world, sometimes they don’t remember their own names. They are absolutely alone,” he informs us as he goes from one room to the other meeting all the women who live at Seneh, the only home where they are loved and taken care of. After fighting for his country all his life, this octogenarian is now fighting to rescue homeless and abandoned women from dying on the streets. But he cannot do it alone. “Everyday I keep on getting calls from here and there. ‘Oh! there’s a woman lying here. Can you help?’ But I don’t dare to go and help because I don’t have the money. I don’t have the resources, our resources are very limited,” explains Gr. Capt. Many times these are women with mental health conditions and considered being a witch due to superstitious beliefs and beaten up as a result. They are victims of domestic abuse or widow mothers who are considered to be a burden on the family. Group Captain Barua has not only rescued them from critical conditions, he has provided them with urgent medical care, food and above all, a free safe shelter where they can live with love and care. Among these residents is Sarala Kalita who fled to save herself from the tortures of her alcoholic husband only to face neglect and trauma from her brothers- and sisters-in-law. “Both my brothers and their wives urged my father to leave me somewhere as they didn’t want to take care of me anymore. One day my brother’s wife didn’t even let me have food at home. She just wanted me to leave and go away. So that’s why, my father got in touch with Seneh through someone, and handed me over to Sir to take care of me,” says Sarita who has found joy in living at Seneh. “Coming to Seneh, it felt like I got a new life altogether. Sir has given me a harmonium. I love singing. It makes me forget everything and takes me to someplace else entirely,” she adds. More women like Sarala can find their way to a loving home like Seneh. All they need is a little bit of your kindness. “It is difficult to make both ends meet”To sustain their daily expenditure, Capt Barua needs approx ₹3 lakh a month and arranging the funds is a mammoth challenge for the NGO. “Our expenses are growing day by day. Residents are growing older, their sicknesses are increasing. At times we have to give them special food. They require more care so we have to get more employees. About half of them require leading around, 1-2 has to be fed also. It will be very difficult to sustain it unless we get help,” he added. One act of your kindness can save these abandoned women, with no one in this world, from struggling on the streets to survive. Over the past 13 years, Anudip has been recognized globally for its unique technology-driven initiative to train and empower more than 100,000 underserved Indian youth thereby touching over 425,000 needy people. Anudip’s target market comprises of youth and women from communities of migrants, political refugees, reformed insurgents, impoverished families below poverty levels, rescued victims of trafficking and persons with disabilities, religious and ethnic minorities and tribals. Anudip’s intervention programs are designed to assist such youth step out of the generational poverty trap, often riddled with large debts, and shield them from social evils like crime, drugs, human trafficking, insurgency and early marriage. Programs such as DIYA, SAVE, BEST and IMPACT focus exclusively on developing employability and entrepreneurship skills for these marginalized youth which gives them a chance to earn sustainable wages, triple their family incomes, and reap the long-term benefits of working in a structured environment. Through these digital livelihoods programs, Anudip has provided job placement services to over 55,000 youth in the digital economy jobs and set up over 200 micro-entrepreneurship co-operatives for marginalized women from remote locations of India, helping beneficiaries access needs such as healthcare services, siblings’ education and create financial savings for themselves and their family. This new found financial stability has enabled them to enhance their purchasing power which in turn contributes towards their community’s prosperity. Anudip has developed and incorporated innovative ideas and technologies to improve the efficiency of its programs, back-office systems and internal learning tools to achieve its mission. Anudip has set up a separate corporate placement cell with strategic relationships with 200+ IT-enabled-services and e-Commerce employers, including leading brands like Tech Mahindra, Amazon, TCS, Flipkart, and Walmart.Examples of Anudip innovations using technology include:1.     Leveraging crowdsourced online tasks that earn revenue for livelihoods for rescued victims of sex trafficking. These women begin with low levels of education and self-esteem, but are able to perform graphics- and image-related tasks online to earn a sustainable income as a co-operative2.     Using the benefits of rapidly evolving 3D Printing technology to offer lightweight, low-flexible and customizable 3D-printed prosthetic arms at scale for needy amputees. Also deploying brain-signal sensors to actuate motors in these arms to provide a prosthetic experience on par with natural arms.Anudip’s Learning and Development (L&amp;D) training tools and resources allow student mobilizers to upskill themselves as Market Executives (MEs), and act as an effective ambassadors of the organization, gain in-depth knowledge of market advances, conduct seminars and workshop in schools, colleges and community centers, and answer queries about job placement services and career opportunities. This facility has resulted in rapidly increasing enrollment at Anudip in the face of growing competition.On average, a Anudip graduate earns on average $120 per month i.e. $1440 annually upon being placed in entry level jobs. Family incomes of our students are on average, $1428 per year in urban areas and $1000 per year in rural locations. Thus when an Anudip graduate starts earning, there is an immediate increase in family income of 100% for urban beneficiaries and 143% for rural beneficiaries. This has a major transformative impact on their families, lifting them from a life of poverty to one of dignity and hope.

20th of May would be remembered in the history when the extremely severe cyclonic storm Amphan pounded Odisha, West Bengal, and Bangladesh, leaving untold devastation not only in parts that were ready for it but also in areas that were unprepared. Cyclone Amphan has caused great damage in rural and urban areas in both Bengal and Odisha. According to reports 75+ lives were lost, majorly in this super cyclone. Thatched houses, small shops, livestock, trees, and crops have been ruined in the areas affected in both the States. Mostly families from vulnerable communities that have suffered the most and many of them have seen their homes and livelihoods destroyed. In the midst of the COVID19 outbreak, Cyclone Amphan has caused untold sufferings for the farmers, fishermen, and migrants whose homes are shut down and crops destroyed. We need to help victims of both these disasters. Anudip is responding and we request your support to this emergency response and help those who need it the most. 
 Cyclone Amphan has affected East Medinipur, South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, and Kolkata districts in West Bengal and Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Puri in Odisha. Reports say, 72+ have died in Bengal and houses, crops, farmland have been completely wiped away. Fishermen have suffered great losses. The tidal wave broke embankments and many thousands of hectares of crops and farmland have been destroyed. More than 5000+ trees have been uprooted. With deep roots in the Sundarbans delta of River Ganges, Anudip Foundation has been constantly trying to reach out to our 1000+ employees and Anudip Alumni who are based in the South 24 Paraganas district of West Bengal. Our staff and Alumni, are now working as Relief Agents and in touch with the Panchayats and BDO offices to list the number of victims affected and volunteer in providing the essential relief aid to the ones in need. We have impacted nearly 1000+ people by providing immediate relief like tarpaulins, medical supplies, dry food, water purifiers, mosquito coils/nets, and other essentials to the affected families. 
 The tandem coming of Cyclone Amphan with the ongoing pandemic of the COVID-19 is a double whammy for the people of West Bengal and Odisha. Now we need to step forward and help the communities recover from the impact of the Cyclone Amphan and continue and cope with the challenges of COVID-19. Coronavirus's devastating impact includes lack of medical supplies and essentials worsening the second COVID wave hit in India. Unknown to many, is the impact on families in the remote areas whose primary bread-earners are affected by COVID’s frightening spiral.  At this pace, Anudip is strengthening our resources to provide support to those marginal groups and the COVID-Risk people in need, whose earning members are affected by COVID and are quarantined and presently cannot avail basic needs.. We are requesting your support to help us heal the nation in this crisis. There is a desperate need of resources every second! 
 As an urgent need, we trying to help:<ol><li>·5000 families with children and elderly from low-income communities, whose earning members are affected by COVID and are quarantined and presently under isolation and stay-at-home-orders in the remote areas of the country</li><li>Highly marginalized Indian citizens who has no understanding and inadequate knowledge of COVID and have low/no resources to help them stay equipped for home-treatment and basic precautions</li><li>Unreached citizens from remote India who are vaccination resistant and has no/low access to online portals to register for COVID vaccinations </li></ol> 
 How are we helping? Support to ensure better survival measures with the following aids at their doorstep:<ul><li>·Ration and Daily Essentials for the needy families in quarantine where the possibility of stay-at-home orders would prevail for more than two weeks in view of COVID-19 disease of the earning members.</li><li>· Coronavirus Home Kit comprising of Pulse Oximeter, Steam Inhaler, Glucometer, an easy-to-use digital thermometer and essential vitamin tablets – as a first aid for COVID-19 symptomatic or have been tested positive, or stay with someone who has developed COVID-19 symptoms or has been tested positive and restricted stepping outside home. This would also include basic handholding of the devices and timely check on temperatures, symptoms and home-treatment.</li><li>· Telemedicine support with facilities of tele/video consultants with a physician from the comforts of home to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. We will facilitate telemedicine services bringing primary healthcare and wellness services to doorstep of each individual lacking an access to proper healthcare due to the lack of reliable resources.</li><li>Vaccination Drives Awareness Programs &amp; Registrations: One of the key challenges the unserved Indian population is facing is the Covid-19 vaccination hesitancy and lack of awareness on its effectiveness. Anudip as a frontline non-profit will enable its wide audience through effective communication and networking to register for vaccines online and successfully initiate COVID-19 vaccinations for all.</li></ul> It is appeal to help us heal the country in this dire crisis.Let us make this possible!

INDIA NEEDS HELP: An Urgent Appeal to save millions

Dipannita Hazra is a 21-year-old young girl from Raghudebpur village in the Howrah district of West Bengal. (Pictured below her Adhaar Card and Images, uploaded with consent). Dipannita’s father Alok Hazra (identity vetted) worked as factory labor but the company got shut down in the pandemic. Her father had to take up odd jobs–earning Rs. 2000- 2500 monthly. Dipannita is a high-secondary pass (class XII completed- verified and mark sheet attached with consent). 
 Dipannita came to us with an earnest appeal to help her get employment to help her family from the ongoing crisis (verified and vetted). Dipannita is eligible for advanced three-months technical-job training in IT with Office Automation which will get her a job with a fixed income. She has appealed to help her fund her course fee worth INR 25000. 
 Anudip–is trying to help students like Dipannita by enabling them to get enrolled for advanced training followed by a stable career. Help Dipannita with only INR 25,000 to enable her to pursue technical job training with a subsequent placement. Anudip following its core ethics would share Dipannita’s complete progress with transparency and directly video call with Dipannita post her course and job placement to help the donors know her trajectory.

Rabiya Khatoon (name changed to maintain confidentiality) a migrant sex worker came to us with an emergency appeal for sponsoring the technical job training of her daughter Reshma, a rescued trafficked survivor (Name changed to protect the identity of the survivor). Reshma went missing when she was only 15, was rescued by police from a brothel where she was allegedly molested. She was then sheltered in the Govt. home. (Pictured below her verified <img src="https://cfstatic.give.do/f14aaea1-42db-412c-8f66-1fbacc6d4c87.jpg" width="0" />Aadhaar Card, Secondary Education Mark Sheet–as an identity proof which is uploaded with her consent.) 
 Rabiya informed our representative that her daughter has appeared in her Secondary Education Examination (admit card verified with consent) and is eagerly awaiting her result. Reshma is ready to take up the 3 month-technical job training which will help her become financially independent and live a life of dignity. Exclusively curated for such disadvantaged girls, our <a href="https://www.anudip.org/best/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">BEST: Building Entrepreneurs to Stop Trafficking Livelihood Program</a> will take into account the vulnerabilities that Reshma has to face, and provide her with essential life skills and technical job training along with employment/entrepreneurial opportunities. 
 With the funds raised, Reshma will receive psycho-social support, mentoring, and technical job training from <a href="https://www.anudip.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" target="_blank">Anudip</a> followed by stable employment.
