For a mother who has spent her entire life loving and raising her child, being beaten and mercilessly thrown out onto the streets by her own son is too heartbreaking to overcome. But this is a common story among the elderly residents of the Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram. “I’ve seen mothers in old and torn clothes, their bodies smelling and their hands and feet rotting and covered in maggots,” shares Dr. G.P. Bhagat, founder of the ashram. These abandoned elderly men and women lay starving on the streets hoping for someone to rescue them from their suffering. The Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram has a dedicated rescue team that saves the elderly from the streets and gives them immediate medical care upon their arrival at the home. To tend to the multiple health complications of the seniors, the home has a medical facility with doctors and nurses, a physiotherapy unit, a pathology lab, a digital X-ray monitoring machine and a pharmacy to provide 24-hour care to older adults anytime they require assistance, even during emergencies. After undergoing years of medical treatment and therapy at Ashadeep, Preeti has seen substantial recovery. She feels glad to have finally found a safe home.Dr Anjana Goswami along with her husband Mukul, started Ashadeep Day Rehabilitation Centre four decades back and since then, the couple have rescued over 1,200 mentally ill homeless from the streets. In the year 2015 Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi launched the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme. Motivated towards the same cause, Care Village Foundation strongly believes that saving a girl child and thereafter educating her could help tackle the problem of dropping sex ratio and women welfare. We firmly believe that 'women welfare' is possible only when the girl child is brought up well: imparting good quality education to her and providing good healthcare and sanitation facilities. We have realised that within Delhi itself, out of the 11 revenue districts, West Delhi continues to have a very low Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and needs awareness programs to rectify the situation. Going by this, we chose J J Cluster Colony, Bakkarwala as our site for the awareness program. 
 Our awareness drive focusses on two aspects- Education and healthcare. While our rallies focus completely on spreading awareness on the two, we also visit schools and anganwadis to organise drawing and quiz competitions to promote our cause.Ma-Beti Sammelan (Mother-Daughter Conferences) are also organised within the Anganwadis of the cluster colony which gives these women a platform to discuss social issues and their troubles. 
 Through this awareness drive we wish to extend our support to the cause of women empowerment and eradicate the related problems from the described cluster, thereafter moving forwards towards a bigger impact.
