DORD(Daudnagar Organisation for Rural Development) is a NGO that works for the upliftment of the poor and marginalized sections of the society, empowerment of women in both urban and rural areas and eradicates poverty, diseases, malnutrition, patriarchal violence, and exclusion. It strives towards its vision of the empowerment of the society through knowledge and action. There are various projects running under DORD which includes DORD Hospital, schools, free of cost cataract surgeries for poor and old people. The DORD hospital has expanded its reach far to the southern parts of Bihar where no eye care services are available . It has performed around 50,000+ surgeries in last 10 years of its existence of which 79% have been free of cost. The principal beneficiaries of the Anganwadi Training Centre are adolescent girls, all children below 6 years of age, pregnant and lactating mothers.

Mega International is an NGO registered in 2002 by a group of social activists with the objectives of organizing and empowering marginalized people, reducing poverty, eliminating various social evils and working for human rights and empowering the weaker section of society. The organization is managed by a 7 member executive committee highly experienced in this field. Our core programme; Vocational Training, running of ITI, Total sanitation campaign, blood donation camp, the welfare of old age people, community health, child labour prevention and awareness generation on relevant socio-economic issues.

Diksha Foundation offers holistic education to children and youth from socially and economically marginalized communities in India. Since 2010, Diksha’s movement has been towards creating “transformative learning spaces for children”. Our idea of education is not confined to literacy alone, we focus on the holistic education of children by looking at the social, creative, and moral development of each student. Holistic education stresses on the overall development of an individual which includes core academics, emotional development, social skills with civic understanding, critical thinking skills, conflict resolution skills, personality development, and knowledge about self. While seeking to educate the whole person the basic three R’s of Relationships, Responsibility, and Reverence for all life, are taken into consideration. We believe that education is a journey of self-discovery, self-love, and self-esteem and that it is a process of change from within, a change in one’s habits and worldviews and one’s relationships and responsibilities with the community.Last year our world was caught off guard when a deadly pandemic struck in the form of COVID - 19. Throughout last year we have tried to strengthen our community with safety and personal hygiene, COVID-19 awareness and necessarry precautions we need to take in order to safeguard the community. The pandemic did not only present itself as a major health risk but also threatened the livelihoods of people. The worst hit sector due to the lockdown to resist the virus, was the unorganized sector throughout the world. In Patna, Bihar most of our students families lost their livelihoods for several months due to continued lockdown. Ins such situation, Diksha Foundation tried to reach out to our students through telephone. We offered them tele counseling to help through the lockdown. We initisated the Annapurna campaign through which we provided ration kits to the families of our students. The ration kit contained all the necessary items that were required to sustain a family for the month. We continue the campaign under the name of Aushadhi - Annapurna Campaign which has been extended to cover medical kits, oxygen necessities along with ration kits of the COVID -19 patients.So far we have been able to distribute these kits to over 1500 families in Patna and Hilsa so far. In further attempts, we have extended our KHEL facilities to ensure our students are never away from learning. Our libraries are open so that students could issue books for reading.

Monkey Sports is a rural-based non-profit organization that provides access to sport for children through inclusion, safe and fun ways to improve their mental and physical well-being. In the last 5 years, we have worked with 2500 children in 3 different states (in remote geographies), and through our work, we have been able to improve children’s behavioral problems and educational outcomes.

Further community based organizations have strategic networking relationships in all the target areas under the banner of BCHR and DVAS facilitators to work as per Executive Committee Resolutions and direction. A frontal organization with an avowed aim to facilitate issue based interventions from time to time. We educate, we organize and we struggle for our rights.WORKING METHODOLOGY OF DVAS:Director is taking care of and is responsible for the success of the programmes assigned to each staff member. He conducts one to one meeting and monitors the ongoing project. A monthly meeting is held where all staff members are required to be present. From a volunteer to a field worker to programme coordinator to director there is close interaction and all the members of DVAS are well aware to there responsibilities. Since we work for our people there is total involvement and sincerity. Work responsibility is explained to all concerned staff by director and programme coordinator and monthly evaluation helps us find solution to all assigned task.

Purnkuti has been active in the field of women, children, and community development. The organization has been giving persistent inputs over the decade to improve the quality of lives of impoverished communities across Bihar, Telangana, and Maharastra benefiting children, women, sex workers, HIV infected sex workers, transgenders, and rural populations through quality inputs on education, skill development, awareness, health &amp; nutrition, and counselling. The organization aims to build an ecosystem of sustainable development and increase economic development within the community itself.

<ul><li>Our Primary Objective – To give a genuine opportunity to the poorest of students and raise awareness about organized sports and encourage participation at the grass-roots level – for girls and boys. Our intent is to help build a robust ecosystem for all such students so that the growth in realized potential from Bihar is tangible.</li><li>Prarambhika Education Trust runs a CBSE affiliated school in the rural area, since2014, which is 20 km from the heart of the city, Patna, Bihar. Our approach is to garner children from different districts of Bihar by holding sports selection camps. These children who will be selected here (any inclination towards learning the sport) will be encouraged to join the sports academy as well as the school. The academy will provide coaching in sports given by professional coaches, and their academic learning will continue in our school. The academic curriculum will be tailored keeping in mind that these children will excel in sports; however, we want to bring the students to an academic standard where they will be able to pursue an alternate career if not sports. Our students will not have to trade one essential skill for the other. Our school is affiliated with CBSE and is up to 10+2. We see many children in our rural branch who have the fire within them to do so much more both in sports and education. Similarly, there are so many students from different parts of Bihar with similar aspirations and limitations. Based on our research we know that students from various small towns in Bihar come to Patna, which provides very few and limited sporting facilities to pursue their dreams. However, these students have to go back to their villages to take exams, and often they have to give up one for the other. A healthy and adequate diet along with training on dietary requirements will also be an essential part of our program.</li><li>Thus we have initiated a sports complex at our school which can give an opportunity to the children of weaker socio-economic backgrounds. We have been able to make a cricket/football field from the donation we have raised from friends and family so far. (see image on right) Now we need funds to make a state-of-art indoor muti-games hall which can house Badminton, BasketBall, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Table Tennis and a hostel facility.</li></ul>
