Women play a pivotal role in the development of any nation as she is an all encompassing circle of life. Within her lies the power to create, to nurture and to transform and empowering her is equivalent to empowering generations. It is with this thought and belief that Swadhar was founded in Mumbai in 1983 by Late Prof. Meenakshi Apte along with social activist Late Mrunal Gore. With profound social work being done in Mumbai, Meenakshi Tai decided to replicate the effort in Pune and Swadhar- Pune was established in 1995 as a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) with membership open to all.Initially, the core focus of Swadhar was to help women in distress irrespective of their caste, religion, community or financial status. In 1998 Swadhar added childcare under its umbrella and became Swadhar IDWC (Institute for Development of Women and Children). So apart from addressing women centric issues, we also began working towards the education, health-care and overall development of disadvantaged children with special emphasis on a girl-child.Swadhar, true to its name, is working relentlessly towards creating self-reliant women &amp; children by empowering them with knowledge about their rights, thus enabling them to lead a dignified life. We are now also on an upward curve headed for resolution of issues of a family as one unit.

Sant Ishwar Foundation is managed by Army veterans. It has created 'Ghar' in a specially designed seven-storey building to house orphan/marginalised girls, paralysed women and the elderly all under one roof and empowers them through quality education/skilling, mainstreaming them and making them productive members of society while enhancing quality of life of the elderly. Girls are provided quality education and all other facilities that are needed to make them realise their full potential and to become capable to participate and compete in all activities. Paralysed women who are wheelchair-mobile will be provided skill training, healthy nutrition, healthcare and numerous facilities. Our objective is to make them confident, independent and productive members of society and to empower and mainstream them.Ghar is the creation of a joint family with three generations - daughters, mothers and grandparents and their bonding as we have in our own families.  We help create meaningful, purposeful and fulfilling lives for our orphan/marginalised girls for them to learn how to use that to impact and make a difference in the lives of others in times to come.The trust also supports the education of marginalised non-resident children and conducts awareness campaigns and workshops on child protection and on aspects of humanity.

SANT ISHWAR FOUNDATION

Kashtakari Panchayat Trust was registered in 2010 primarily to support waste pickers and their families and their collectives. The support ranges from direct financial assistance to indirect support in the form of training, facilitation, and research. KPT would best be described as a bridge, connecting people to each other, connecting ideas to people and people to resources to implement those ideas. It facilitates and celebrates the interaction between one section of humanity and another, to create a better world for all.KPT envisions a world that is non-discriminatory and socially just, economically equitable, environmentally sustainable, culturally plural, democratic, where diversity is valued and there is peace and harmony.The main objects of KPT:<ul><li>Provide training and technical support to waste pickers and organizations and other informal workers</li><li>Socially and educationally help workers in the informal economy, especially women</li><li>Advocate for the rights of workers in the informal economy</li><li>Improve livelihood opportunities for the working poor</li><li>Work for the welfare of workers in the informal economy and their families</li><li>Train and help waste pickers for sustainable waste management and recycling</li><li>Increase the visibility of workers in the informal economy through research and publication</li><li>Commission and organize workshops, seminars, training programs and courses</li><li>Undertake activities and programs that further the objects of the organization</li></ul>

Organizational profileSeva Sahayog Foundation is registered under section 8 (old section 25 B) of the company act.We started with the first project which was a school kit and then added many other projects, all of which are ongoing.People from various sections of society do have a desire to “give back to society” even though they are occupied with usual assignments and chores of life. Through Seva Sahayog Foundation, these people are sharing their best to social service/cause. A large bank of such socially conscious people has been single most achievement and strength of Seva Sahayog Founation.Since 13 years Seva Sahayog Foundation is working on connecting various companies, organizations and people with needy sections of our society, mainly from areas in and around Pune and Mumbai. Our core activities are education, woman empowerment, health and environment. These include providing conducive environment at CLCs to children, education of adolescent girl child, skill-development for youths and self-sustainable empowerment of women from seva wastis/communities. Therefore, our projects are exclusively linked with seva wastis.Recently, we have added some projects to further up-bring our seva wasti residents.

SEVA SAHAYOG FOUNDATION

Snehwan is a non-profit organization based near Alandi, Pune, Maharashtra. Our aim is to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for the less fortunate children of farmers and poor families. Snehwan is a movement for those children who are deprived of learning due to adverse situations and surroundings. We believe education is a gift of life; it is the only way to improve the life of underprivileged children, forever. Snehwan provides education, living accommodation and job training for children of farmers who have committed suicide, laborer's in the farm and economically underprivileged farmers. Journey started in 2015 with 18 children is now taking care of 180 children of the age group 10 to 22 year. Along with quality education and schooling, we teach them skill based education, also we guide and prepare these children for competitive exams. We ensure they trot on right path, know their rights and responsibilities, seek opportunities, fight injustice and also, develop leadership qualities. ALL FOR THEIR BETTER FUTURE!

Maya CARE Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization, founded in 2009 by Manjiri Gokhale Joshi and Abhay Joshi, is a shining beacon of hope and empowerment for two often marginalized segments of society: the elderly and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs). This remarkable organization is on a mission to provide free assistance to the elderly while enabling PWDs to learn, earn, lead, build careers and become economically independent. Maya CARE's core mission revolves around extending a helping hand to the elderly. Through a dedicated team of volunteers spanning a wide age range, from students to professionals, retirees, and homemakers, the organization offers a wide array of services that encompass intellectual, logistical, medical, and emotional support. During visits, volunteers selflessly assist with tasks ranging from paperwork to providing companionship, helping with doctor appointments, and fulfilling the daily needs of the elderly. This compassionate approach not only addresses practical challenges but also addresses the loneliness and isolation that many seniors face.What sets Maya CARE Foundation apart is its unwavering commitment to empowering Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to assume crucial roles within the organization. Project Bindu, an invention of Maya CARE, serves as a holistic solution to the challenges faced by both the elderly and disabled. The project recruits' individuals with disabilities and equips them with tailored training, coaching, and mentoring, enabling them to lead economically independent and dignified lives. This initiative is a testament to Maya CARE's dedication to inclusivity and the belief that everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can contribute meaningfully to society.Maya CARE Foundation's commitment to sustainability is evident through its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) unit, where skilled PWDs take back-end work outsourced by corporations. This approach not only supports the economic independence of PWDs but also generates revenue to further the organization's mission.Maya CARE Foundation has made a significant impact, while operating in 74 cities in India and 4 cities of the UK, benefiting more than 2,000 elderly individuals with the support of a network of 2,001 dedicated volunteers. Over 22,600 free visits have been conducted to date, by having a helpline in every regional language. The vision of Maya CARE Foundation extends beyond its current reach, A team of disabled people from India and the UK who have managed to flip the equation of dependence, are economically empowered and supporting families.

Leadership For Skilled Education Foundation (branded as Leadership For Equity, LFE), is a non-profit (NGO). In our two-fold approach to change, we build the capacity of government system leaders and we influence system processes. In partnership with the local and state education bodies, we co-create programs that shift teaching-learning practices and improve student learning and well-being. This work coupled with our research and advisory support to influence policies, we aspire to be a catalyst in forming effective government education systems.BELIEF: We believe Public Education Systems are the gatekeepers of social EQUITY, especially when India's 120 million poorest of the poor children go to government-run schools. A multi-layered, complex, and systemic problem of educational inequity, will require a solution rooted in the SYSTEMS CHANGE approach. We believe that a COLLECTIVE effort by forging partnerships with governments, like-minded philanthropists, corporates, donors, nonprofits and grassroots organisations will help bring scalable and sustainable social change.VISION: We envision Public Education Systems that refuse to let children down.APPROACH: We focus on building system leaders by strengthening middle Management. This includes enabling Academic &amp; Administrative Officers (Extension Officers, BEOs, DIETs, SCERT) to effectively lead quality improvement programs and run their departments. As well as, Equipping Teachers Mentors (URCs, CRG, BRG, CRCs) to improve the classroom practices of teachers in foundational learning and technology. In the last 5 years, we built the capacity of 1290+ system leaders, and 33,200+ teachers to impact 1.25 million students. We have co-created and implemented 7 different programs and have multi-year MoUs with 9 govt. bodies including Zilla Parishads, DIETS, SCERT, Department of School Education &amp; Sports, Govt. of Maharashtra and urban bodies. There are currently 2 districts and 2 state MoUs in the pipeline.

Gramurja Human Development Foundation is a non-profit organization based in rural Maharashtra, India. Our focus areas are education, livelihood, and governance.
