Furthermore, the digital divide inhibits their ability to participate fully in the increasingly digital society, limiting their social interaction and economic opportunities. Bridging this divide is crucial to ensuring equal opportunities and a level playing field for all high school students. 
 Digital Equity is on a mission to equip over 400 million children with the tools to thrive in our ever-evolving digital world.Through its flagship programme in government and affordable private schools, DE runs digital literacy course called Digital Essentials for high school children in India who do not have access to a computer.  By the end of the course, the kids understand mobile and computer technology, how the internet works, how to write emails, browse the internet for research and filter out misinformation, how to present an idea using slides, create documents and notes and work on collaborative projects, how to use spreadsheets to store and analyse data, communicate with anyone across the globe using live translator tool, and how to mindfully use social media for their benefit.Oftentimes, even if the infrastructure is available, an efficient technical educator is difficult to find. To solve this issue, DE also trains enthusiastic local college students, offering them internships to work as mentors for students in nearby schools. Every year new members receive intensive training through our in-house programme and then facilitate the course to students in nearby government or affordable private schools. Aligned with DE's values, our facilitators conduct their sessions with an empathetic, inclusive and engaging learning approach. Children feel respected and heard, which makes them eager to attend school, especially for our classes, 
 Digital literacy provides underprivileged children equal opportunities to break the cycle of poverty. By accessing knowledge and resources online, they can pursue their interests, up-skill, and find opportunities. The internet empowers them to become self-sufficient, create businesses, and connect with global mentors.
