Help us build a health care clinic for the underprivileged children, in a free school which is located 15 Kms away from the Mysore city.Kaliyuva Mane is a free, child-centric alternative school for the opportunity-deprived children. We have bent every rule that a regular school follows to suit the needs of the children. Approximately 100 Opportunity-deprived children - Child labourers, School Dropouts, Children from BPL families’ etc.., study in our school. The school is located on the outskirts of Mysore, which is 15 Km away from the city. Since we are away from the city, we have to go to Mysore, whenever there is a medical and hospitalization need for children. Also the children who have infections and minor diseases are not isolated from the rest of children, due to the lack of infrastructure. Hence we wanted to build a health care clinic in the school premises itself and hire a full-time nurse, to solve this problem.The total cost of the project is Rs 7.5 Lakhs and our aim is to raise Rs 5 Lakhs (Approx. $ 7,700) for the construction of the health care clinic through this campaign. Assuming a minimum donation of Rs 500, we require 1000 donors (1000 bricks) for this construction.Hence please donate as many bricks as possible for the construction. Donate a brick to build a health care clinic for the underprivileged children

In rural India, either children drop out from the schools or fail to reach the grades, due to poverty, ignorance of the parents, lack of infrastructure in schools and rote teaching methods in regular schools. According to UNESCO report, India has largest number of adolescent 'out of school' children. As per Annual Status of Education Report, only 42% of rural 5th standard children can read 2nd standard text book in their mother tongue. This is the issue we are trying to address. 
 In order to address the issue, we are running a free residential school, 'Kaliyuva Mane' for the benefit of rural underprivileged children and 'out of system' children such as: school dropouts, Children from rural illiterate families, children from broken families etc. More than 100 children are the beneficiaries. 43 children have been given food, accommodation, healthcare apart from education in an environment of Love, Care and Empathy. For rest of children education is free. The school functions on the philosophy, 'School for children' rather than 'children for school'. 
 * The school was started in 2005 with 14 kids. Now more than 100 children are happily evolving. In 2010, 1st batch of 7 children appeared for 10th standard examinations.* So far 36 children have passed out of 37 who appeared * 2 dyslexlic children have also passed out of 6 appeared* Some are in colleges, some are already employed.

Kaliyuva Mane is a free, child-centric alternative school for the opportunity-deprived children on the outskirts of Mysore in India. We have bent every rule that a regular school follows to suit the needs of the children. Innovation has played a huge role in the formative structure of our school. Approximately 100 opportunity-deprived children- orphans, child labourers, children from BPL families etc, study in our school. We are planning to convert our quasi-residential school into a fully residential school by constructing a dormitory for male students. The total tentative cost of this project is 45 lakhs. Till date, we have raised approximately 11 lakh rupees and the construction has already begun.
