“The abusers insert a candle or fingers in the vagina of children torture them. If the children don’t relent even then, the abusers put chilli powder so that children will say “yes” because of the burning of the skin… There are teeth marks on their bodies, and their vaginal parts are burnt. When children stay in these conditions, it is painful even to hear,” says Lalitha SA of the Society for Participatory Integrated Development (SPID), while talking about many heart-rending stories of trafficked children in red-light areas. In over three decades, the team of SPID led by Lalitha, has saved over 3000 children from the red-light areas in Delhi, such as GB Road, and many from clutches of sex trafficking. Gavaksh centres aim at the overall development of the child from the lesser privileged communities, for which we hire/invite professionals from various fields to interact with the students. In tune with the humble backgrounds that the students are coming from, we try to provide all the necessary logistics such as books, stationery, art &amp; craft supplies, musical instruments, sports equipment etc. 
 We have opened a new post-schooling school in a village named, Likhi near Palwal. Through this Grant, we will be able to sustain the learning of these kids with the help of dedicated teachers for extra coaching and workshops to enhance their overall personality.
