Human trafficking in India is a horrifying crisis. Thousands of victims, primarily women and girl children, are exploited in red-light areas. Over 10,659 cases were reported between 2018-2022, but experts say that these numbers are likely a fraction of the reality due to underreporting, yet they still do expose the magnitude of the crisis. Girls make up 71.4% of missing children in India and a large number of these girls end up at red-light areas. Sex trafficking is particularly gruesome, with girls as young as 12 sold for as little as a few thousand rupees.

Help Save Young Girls From Trafficking

"Hundreds of young girls are lost forever in the dark lanes of red-light areas," says Leena Kejriwal, the founder of Missing Link Trust. These girls endure unimaginable abuse and exploitation, being lured or trafficked into an industry that breaks them physically and emotionally. Missing Link Trust is on a mission to prevent the tragedy before it happens, and also rehabilitate girls and women who are rescued from forced sex work.Leena’s journey began with her powerful street art project in Kolkata, where she painted haunting silhouettes of missing girls to raise awareness against sex trafficking. Now, she leads a larger fight — one that focuses on prevention and rehabilitation. But this mission needs your support. You can save countless girl children from going missing forever. "They ready her through violent acts, removing all threads of shame from her."But why wait until a girl is trafficked to save her? Missing Link Trust believes in stopping trafficking at its root — through “prevention, prevention, prevention” as Leena puts it. The goal is simple: protect girls from ever being lost to this darkness.A Safe World for Children“Our mission is the prevention of abuse and exploitation of children,” Leena emphasizes. “Our vision is to create a safe world for children, and we want to do this with a preventive methodology.”Every Donation MattersYour support will help Missing Link Trust continue its vital work of rescuing, rehabilitating, and preventing the trafficking of young girls. Infant India runs a home called Anandgram that cares for 60 HIV-positive orphaned children from underprivileged backgrounds. Through no fault of their own, these orphans contracted HIV, a serious disease. Without parents or guardians, these children have no access to medicines, doctors and the HIV treatments needed to stay alive. Infant India is an NGO that takes in these orphans and provides them with a home, nutritious food, medication and education for the rest of their childhoods and sets them on a path to have better and healthier futures. HIV-positive orphaned children face harsh discrimination and are outcast and shunned by relatives, neighbours, schools and society as a whole. The NGO has even come across children who have been forcibly thrown out of their schools, once it is discovered that they are HIV-positive. But these children suffer from more than the lack of medication or even access to education. Because of the stigma against HIV and AIDS, these innocent children are stripped of their worth and value and are forced to live in shame and in hiding. You can help Infant India care for 60 HIV-positive children and transform their futures through medication, nutrition, shelter and education. Donate now.Donate easily through UPI, all debit/credit cards and net banking. How Infant India helps HIV-positive childrenFounded in 2006, Infant India has helped more than 650 HIV-positive children, the youngest of which is just 3 years old. By focusing on holistic and long term care, the NGO provides all that a child needs. Infant India’s safe and loving shelter, food and medical care tends to the children’s basic needs and keeps them safe and well fed and gives them the vital medication their bodies require to fight the disease. The NGO also provides education and skills training to give the children a future in which they can be self-sufficient, financially independent and live dignified lives. But the NGO does not want the children to spend their lives alone, after having been abandoned at such young ages. So when the children become adults, the NGO arranges marriages with suitable partners, something that would be difficult to do on their own. Because of this thoughtful care, these marriages have resulted in the births of around 34 babies who are HIV-free. Each of these children contracted the virus through mother-to-child transmission. But through the NGO’s care, these children are able to become parents to HIV-negative children and live a full life. The founders’ personal connection to HIV-positive orphansDatta Bargaje was working as a lab technician and came across two blood samples in the lab of a woman and her child, which showed an HIV-positive result. In a few weeks Datta Bargaje learned that the mother died, leaving the child orphaned. Without care or guardians, this HIV-positive child was doomed to discrimination and death. Datta Bargaje and his wife didn’t take long to make the decision to adopt the child and this was how Infant India started the NGO that would go on to care for hundreds of HIV-positive children. Need for the fundraiserInfant India needs your support to continue to care for the 60 HIV-positive orphans in their care. From the life-saving medication to the practical skills-training, Infant India’s care for HIV-positive orphans has transformed the lives of hundreds of children and raised them into self-sufficient and well-adjusted adults who have the foundation, motivation and positive outlook to live healthy and happy lives. The Goa Foundation is the most well known of Goa’s environmental action groups. Founded in 1986 by a group of Goan environmentalists each fighting his or her own individual environmental battles, the organisation today commands the respect of judiciary, government and the general public for persisting with its environment agenda for more than three decades. The work of the Foundation spans different areas and fields, all related in some way or another with the conservation of Goa’s natural environment

Dear Friends of Goa and Goa's Wildlife, We are the tigers of Goa, living peacefully in the forests of the Western Ghats, which have been our home for generations. Our presence here is deeply woven into Goa’s culture—honored in temples, festivals, and local heritage. But now, the Goa government is trying to deny us the protection we need. Despite a landmark judgment from the Bombay High Court affirming our right to a Tiger Reserve, the government is challenging it in the Supreme Court. The Court quoted the Mahabharata in our defence: If there is no forest, then the tiger gets killed; If there is no tiger, then the forest gets destroyed.Hence, the tiger protects the forest and the forest guards the tiger! The Goa government’s lawyers have made wild claims—saying we want 1,000 sq. km for our reserve (wholly untrue) and that we’ll soon be roaming the entire state (atrocious)! For this, they are being paid Rs.25 lakh per appearance! What have we done to deserve this hostility? We’ve always coexisted peacefully with Goa’s people. But if you don’t act now, we risk losing our place in Goa’s wildlife legacy. The Supreme Court has referred the case to the Central Empowered Committee (CEC), whose recommendations will be considered by it on November 12, 2025. The hearings are in Delhi, and though we tigers can’t be there ourselves, we have the Goa Foundation, our trusted ally, fighting for us. But we need your help more than ever. What We Need Right Now!We must raise ₹4 lakh by mid-November to cover essential costs, including:

Travel to Delhi for the CEC and Supreme Court hearings

Research and documentation to strengthen our case

Paperwork, photos, and videos to present our side effectively

Without your support, we may lose our home, relegated to the status of "tourists" visiting Goa. We don’t want to be seen wandering the streets of Goa, and we certainly don’t want to be forgotten. We want to remain in our forests. Please donate generously to the Goa Foundation’s Tiger Appeal. Your support ensures that we tigers continue to roam the forests we’ve called home for centuries. With gratitude,The Tigers of Goa

The Goa Foundation -- the strongest and longest lasting of Goa’s environmental groups, -- was started by environmental activists in 1986. It has survived till now with a steady stream of donations from people who love Goa and who want Goa – both as an idea and as a place -- to survive for future generations. Thirty years later after its inception, the people in charge want to hand over the fighting organization to Gen Next. Handing over an organization without a Corpus Fund is not a good idea. Those taking over need to concentrate on fighting issues, not raising funds (though they will eventually do that as well). So we thought of a Survival Fund. It’s money you give us which will ensure the Foundation survives well into the next generation. The Goa Foundation’s outstanding work spanning three decades (most of it reported at www.goafoundation.org), will convince you that this is one organization worth blindly supporting in small or large ways. For more than 30 years we never thought of a Survival (or Corpus) Fund. Now we think we need to get one going, to simply ensure that as the major environmental battles that threaten to engulf Goa unfold, the organization is strong enough to ensure an effective and sustained presence on behalf of the ordinary people of the State. You can choose whether the donation you want to make to the Goa Foundation will go to its annual operational requirements (this is a separate GiveIndia project) or to its permanent Corpus Fund. In the first instance, you give and support the expenses of the daily work of the Foundation. In the second instance, you contribute to ensuring the Goa Foundation does not close up after its founders leave. (The main ones in any case are already beyond 65 of age.) Through our advocacy, public interest litigation and support for peoples' movements, we work in multiple areas. First of all, we work extensively on environmental issues in Goa, including mining, Coastal Regulation Zone including turtle nesting sites, protected areas including wildlife sanctuaries and forests, protection of the Western Ghats in Goa, conservation of khazans and agricultural lands, air pollution (no to coal), etc. We try to generate all pro-environment, pro-people research that is required for effective and sustained environmental battles that are engulfing the State in flames. We take a tough staff on pro-environment issues, tackling corporations, governments and bureaucrats without fear.Through our Goenchi Mati Movement (goenchimati.org), we try to ensure that the present generation of Goans (and their political leaders) think of the needs of the next generation and resources for their livelihood as well.
