Gramya Resource Centre for Women was formed in 1993 to promote women's rights to equality. Gramya's vision is to create a just society, which will provide political, social and economic opportunities for women, especially tribal and dalit women. In the context of rural livelihoods, Gramya works with Rythu Swarajya Vedika (RSV) as a common platform working for the well-being and rights of farming community, and for addressing the crisis of farmer suicides and assisting the victim families. RSV's efforts are helping thousands of distressed farmer families and also organizing farmers to advocate for better policies and better implementation of existing support systems. Gramya also supports RSV's efforts to help other marginalized sections of the society. We also work for women farmers' rights through Mahila Kisan Adhikar Manch (MAKAAM).Gramya promotes Child Rights with a focus on the girl child and education. We work closely with Community Based Organizations, women's organizations, youth leadership, and like-minded Civil Society Organizations at the local, state, national and International levels to seek justice for marginalized communities. We believe that patriarchal mindsets are underpinned by the material basis of women’s lives. The double burden of work at home and outside and deprivations resulting from low wages and disenfranchisement from property continue to place women in a secondary position and vulnerable to violence. To overcome barriers, Gramya works to mainstream gender equality by promoting women's rights to land, water, and forests. Having successfully campaigned against international trafficking of girl babies, currently we continue our struggle to prevent sex selection and infanticide.

In the project area, sex selection is rampant and anti-girl child attitudes predominate. Girls are sent to government schools where they are neglected with low standards of education and violation of child rights common. Teachers often look down on children and particularly girls. Instances of sexual abuse are increasing, with community inactive due to poverty and lack of understanding. By creating awareness among girls about their rights, we will build Girl Power, to act individually and create collectives to act. Parents will be oriented through Child Protection Committees in villages. Child line will act to support and protect children. 
 We will support mothers not to sell or give away daughters, but to protect them. Regular mobilization of girls in 10 schools- Inform about the law and share views about equality and justice through games,films and group work. Enable girls to think for themselves and support each other and call for help to Gramya and Childline. Set up Child Protection Committees with support from Panchayat leaders, Self-Help group women leaders, teachers and children to act in case of child marriages or other rights violations. Organization will regularly scan the school and community environment to ensure justice to girls. 
 Survival of girl child ensured with own parents. Girls in school able to voice their views and problems and seek help when necessary. Community has better appreciation of Child Rights particularly about girls and will act for their welfare. Will support girl child survival, development, protection and participation. Community leaders demand accountability from all stakeholders caring for children including teachers/wardens in hostels and Anganwaadi system. In both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, farmer suicides are causing deep distress in the farming community. They play the most crucial role of feeding the nation, but as a society and as an economy, we are not ensuring a dignified life and sufficient income for them. In the last 4 years, more than 3500 farmers have committed suicide in Telangana and more than 1600 in Andhra Pradesh. Across India, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have the worst status of indebtedness, with 92.9% and 89.1% of the agricultural households being in debt, respectively. The worst hit are the tenant farmers who are doing the actual cultivation by leasing land from the owners. A recent study by RSV found that 75% of farmer suicides are by tenant farmers. Most of the debt is in the form of high interest loans from local moneylenders and dealers, pushing farmers into a debt trap.We are trying to address the above-mentioned two issues. The most distressed families are those in which a farmer suicide has taken place or those whose lands are suffering from the ill-effects of drought or calamity. They need immediate support. Secondly, we need to prevent farmer distress by addressing issues of tenant farmers and women farmers who are doing the actual cultivation. 
 1.	Help to distressed farmer familiesa.	Children’s Education Support: Support for continuing education and acquiring professional skills, especially in high school and college. b.	Mentorship Program: Our aim is to address behavioral issues of children, listen to them and give them a sense that they aren’t alone, and counsel them for planning future studies, skill development and career. c.	Livelihood support: Help with purchase of cattle or other animals, other income generating activities such as grinding machines, tailoring, petty shops etc. or with continuing agriculture. 2.	Preventing distress/suicides by ensuring that farmers get their entitlements from the governmenta.	Helping tenant farmers get loan eligibility cards and bank loans, by generating awareness and campaigning with government officials.b.	Support women farmers, especially from farmer suicide families to access their rights to land and government schemes for livelihoods.c.	Help farm suicide families get ex gratia support from governmentd.	Organizing meetings at field level and state level, spreading awareness through media and public interactions. 
 •	Assistance provided to 25 - 50 distressed families in the form of children’s education or livelihood support.•	Mentorship program will be provided for 20 children, selecting suitable mentors.•	Help to 1000 tenant farmers to file applications, get LEC cards and government support.•	Help to at least 100 single-women farmers to get land rights and government support•	Create pressure on government to change policies in favour of tenant farmers and women farmers
