We are working for the better health care of Older Adults and underprivileged section of society and to improve quality of education at upper primary level in government schools in various locations of India. The motto is to “encourage, educate and empower” the present and future generation, there by building the Nation.Our Services :1. Comprehensive Mobile Health Care Van- On International Day for Older Persons (1st October, 2018), HAI launched a Comprehensive Mobile Health Care Van in association with AIIMS and Rotary International. The van is regularly visiting 27 Old Age Homes situated in Delhi-NCR on monthly basis for taking care of their health, social and emotional issues to around 1777 older residents. Besides the van is also visiting from time to time to the Resident Welfare Associations of Delhi/NCR to transfer positive vibes not only to our elders but also to the young generation, so that they are motivated to take care of their senior citizens. The Mobile Van is equipped with latest technologies along with basic laboratory tests and experienced doctors, physiotherapist, nurse &amp; lab technician, trained in Geriatric Medicine from AIIMS. Geriatric Health care includes comprehensive features from active screening of non‐communicable diseases, management to rehabilitation for age related disease with additional complementing initiatives as‐ Peer to Peer Counselling, Integration of Inter‐generational bonds through Senior people, school children &amp; college students visits, etc. to de stress &amp; restore harmony between generations‐ “Making a life worth living for All Ages”.2. Intergenerational Learning Centre (IGLC) - Intergenerational Learning Centre-IGLC is an empowerment model to educate and up skill the inherent potential of underprivileged children of government schools with experiential learning of educated senior citizens. Beauty lies in mutual reciprocation of knowledge between generations and learning that emerge by intermingling of experience and curiosity. Elderly generation are at one end of life cycle and children are on another end. They have already travelled the path which is still a new venture for future generation. The approach/ attitude/ Nazariya’ while taking decision makes the difference. Motivation behind IGLC project is to ‘Shape Lives’ and open dialogue between generations to help enrich aspiration for better- - Quality of Life - Quality of Education - Quality of Health Healthy Aging India’s initiative of implementing IGLC project in Indian society is bridging gap between two generations. The purposeful engagement of Older Adults with underprivileged children creates win-win situation for both the generation as it benefits to mental and physical health of Older Adults and on the other hand Less-privileged children of government schools get chance to improve their academic result and learning outcomes. In some of the cases we have seen drastic behavioural changes in children because of this intergenerational engagement as lifelong learning of older adults help children in numerous ways including goal setting, becoming disciplined Etc. In IGLC project educated and retired senior citizens become part of a month long teaching training sessions (Training of Trainer) and focus of this training is to impart knowledge regarding teaching skills, subject knowledge, mechanism of making teaching-learning process simple and student centric, Etc. once senior citizens are trained we send them to government schools where they teach children daily( within schools hours and after school both). Apart from teaching students the senior citizen educator also work on children’s life and soft skills, help in goal setting, achieve future aspirations, Etc. currently we are working with 5 NDMC and 1 Uttar Pradesh government school and 8 Jharkhand government upper-primary school. We are going to upscale this project other parts of India.Senior citizen having aged 60 years and older, functionally independent, graduate with understanding of Hindi and English, loving and caring in nature, and willing to improve quality of education and residing in close vicinity of identified Government school. A validated scientific questionnaire was used to assess the overall health and cognitive abilities of our elderly educators. This gave us a Pre-intervention data of their overall well-being. After evaluation, they were found average and satisfactory on most of the parameters. Such data is collected to monitor post intervention changes and responses.At present IGLC model is being implemented in 14 Upper-primary schools in India. (5 Delhi, 1 Up and 8 Ranchi)3.Seniors' Abode﻿Established in Jan 2022, Seniors’ Abode is an affordable living facility for the elderly people in Sriniwaspuri, Delhi. Located in the premises of Bharat Sevashram Sangha temple, Sriniwaspuri, Delhi, the Seniors’ Abodes’  principal foundation rests on the idea, “All should live with Dignity and Freedom.”It provides an ecosystem for healthy and active later years of the residents by addressing issues around emotional, physical and financial insecurity, and helping to promote pursuits of their passions through meaningful engagement that keeps away the onset of degenerative diseases like dementia and Alzheimer's.The facilities and infrastructure of Senior’s Abode consist of 11 fully furnished living rooms with double beds, TV, AC, wardrobes, tables and chairs, sofas, as well as geysers, room heaters, and air purifiers. The facility is designed to be age-friendly, the building lift is equipped to fit wheelchair, the skid-free flooring, comprehensive fire safety, 24/7 In-house ambulance, CCTV monitoring, common dine- in area, recreational activity hall and power back-up.In addition, health-care facilities include routine health check-ups under  24/7 geriatric care. The residents also participate in yoga, meditation and physiotherapy classes under trained instructors and treatments supervised under the guidance of AIIMS-trained doctors. The facility also has an in-house pantry with 24/7 access, a common dine-in area as well as room service.Seniors’ Abode provides free accommodation where each room is on a triple-sharing basis. Each resident donates a sum of only Rs. 10,000 for food and medicines while all other expenses like health care, accommodation, and leisure activities are met through external funding and charity of good citizens via donations.

People are now living up to very old age due to better socioeconomic situation, nutrition and access to quality health care. It is a global phenomenon and Indians are no exception. Ageing population in India is expanding at a very fast pace. Over 12 crore (9%) Indians are aged 60 years or more and in next three decades, these numbers will increase by two and half times. India will be home for over 30 cores older people. This silver tsunami has profound implications on health system functioning and provision of social support. Increase in life span, though a matter of celebration is also associated with multiple diseases and disabilities of cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke dementia; respiratory infection; and frailty etc especially among the vulnerable 75+ segment. They need increased assistance to cope with their stress and disability. With limited health service availability for older people even in urban cities like Delhi or Mumbai, prevention and control of health problems is the need of the hour. It requires a multi-pronged approach with active collaboration of health and social welfare services; and community based health-care programme targeted at the older population. Studies have found the unmet needs of the aged living within families perforce them to opt for old age home, which is an undesired option for thousands of aged to spend late years in solitude at old age home. Madrid Plan of Action on Ageing 2002 and National Policy on senior citizens 2011 stressed upon ‘Ageing’. Condition at OAHs for destitute seems miserable where aged live with illness, ignorance and poverty.Though Help Age India, an International NGO, have bought the concern towards elderly in the forefront, yet meeting rural and urban elderly health care need is very challenging. Ageing population tends to have a higher prevalence of chronic diseases, physical disabilities, mental illnesses and other co-morbidities. The health needs and health related problems of elderlypeople cannot be viewed in isolation. Therefore, prevention and control of health problems of elderly necessitates a multifaceted approach incorporating active collaboration of health, social welfare, and community based geriatric health-care program, to enrich quality of life of elderly staying in old age home.Providing them with basic medical and rehabilitation facilities at their doorstep is the only solution that can work for them. Keeping in mind their widely scattered geographical locations we have proposed a trailer based multidisciplinary mobile clinic which includes facilities like health check up by physician trained in Geriatric Medicine and Physiotherapy unit. This trailer based design has been chosen as it has a better maneuverability than a low floor bus based designs and better utilization of spaces, as every bit of space will be required to give a comprehensive healthcare support to the elderly. This vehicle will visit localities having Old Age homes and aged populace. The vehicle layout is designed in such a way that multiple patients can access the facility simultaneously and privately. 
 Our main aim is to preserve the dignity and autonomy in late life through health awareness, promotion and creating intergenerational solidarity. We believe in empowerment of this wise community by engaging them in meaningful activity. We are striving to create unique self sustaining model for elder generation so that they don’t need to ever depend upon others for their survival. HAI is registered under Indian Societies Act, 1860 in December 2013, since then it is helping the healthcare to helpless elderly and running intergenerational learning centre for underprivileged children. We have helped more than 7500 elderly in our health camps! More than 12,750 families benefited from health talks. We have identified and would like to run comprehensive health care facility in 21 Old Age Home of Delhi/NCR and looking for support of Ambulance. The Mobile Medical Care Unit (MMCU) will provide primary and continual medical diagnosis and treatment to those, who due to age, lack of manpower in old age homes and poverty cannot approach regular doctors in health clinics and hospitals. MMCU will visit in the OAH at least once a month.We are also proud to announce our new initiative “Intergenerational Learning Centre”. The center is first of its kind and will be based in Noida, and has been approved by Ministry of Culture. The Mobile Medical Care Unit (MMCU) will provide primary and continual medical diagnosis and treatment to those, who due to age, lack of manpower in old age homes and poverty cannot approach regular doctors in health clinics and hospitals. MMCU will visit in the OAH at least once a month.OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:Primary objective:- •To provide comprehensive health care service (preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitate) OAH of Delhi.•To imbibe positive health seeking behavior in OAHs by creating awareness•To prescribe and dispense medicines on the spot for the common ailments and referral to hospital for other cases. Secondary:- •To improve the functionality and quality of life of the elderly resident of OAH.•To reduce hospitalization and mortality of said population. 
 Outcome variable and monitoring:-  To assess the quality of life by WHO scale (Hindi) at baseline and also every 3 months for a duration of one year Frequency of hospitalization  Frequency of mortality  Total health expenditure (quarterly) by the concern authority Monitoring will be done by separate expert team from AIIMS.Implementation Agency:Department of Geriatric Medicine (DGM), AIIMS in association with Healthy Aging India. DGM will be responsible for technical details, and Healthy Aging India will be responsible to provide funds.Implementation Methodology:-It is proposed to run a Mobile medical care unit (MMCU) in the form of a trailer bus to provide primary and continual medical diagnosis and treatment to those, who due to age, lack of manpower in old age homes and poverty cannot approach regular doctors in dispensaries and hospitals.-MMCU technical Staff includes of one Primary care physician with training in Geriatric Medicine, One Physiotherapist, and One Nurse. Our team will reach at consenting old age home in the morning 8:00 am and provide service upto 1:00 Pm.-Depending upon the number of the consenting old age home our mobile clinic van will visit at each old age home once in a month. -Detail socio-demographic (Age, sex, address, previous address, previous occupation, financial status) data of the residence who will come for the assessment by nurse, then Comprehensive Geriatric assessment will be done which include:Assessment of vision, hearing, Nutritional assessment, oral cavity, Cardiac and lung assessment (by Geriatrician), grip strength and gait speed (by Physiotherapist), on meeting elderly we will also assess their perception towards the quality of life they are leading- with the help of WHO inventory on quality of life-hindi version, and also their Cognitive assessment (Hindi Mini mental Status) Examination), and assessment of depression (geriatric depression scale) will be done. After comprehensive geriatric assessment of the elderly suffering from any disease will be taken care by the experts from respective fields under supervision of primary care physician. Health Promotiona) Health education leaflets, posters, audio-visual will be displayed in respective old age home residence with special stress on de-addiction and immunization.b) Immunization against pneumonia and flu will be provided to the vulnerable resident on case to case basis.c) Everyday health promotion message will be send to the concern authority through mobile technology (under already running WHO project on m-aging)d) Palliative care will be provided with the help of cancer support organization.Acute emergency like Heart Attack, stroke, and acute trauma due to fall or injury cannot be covered in the services.Specifications of Mobile Health CLINIC Van will be equipped with medical requirements: - o Physiotherapy equipment’s (Bone Densitometer, Short-wave Medical Diathermy, Interferential Therapy and Ultrasound, Hydroculator, Nerve and muscle stimulator, Computer cervical and lumber Traction Bed, Shoulder wheel and pulley Multi exercise gym, treadmill, Exercise Staircase, Infra red lamp floor model, paraffin wax bath ,etc.) o Otoscopes, audiometry mechineDesired outcomeThrough the study we wish to 1) Monitor hospitalization rates, we hope that MMCU’s intervention will help reduce hospitalization rates.2) Reduced mortality rate, since we aim to provide regular checkups at OAH’s with the help of MMCU’s.3) To assess quality of life, see if MMCU’s can make a valuable difference.
