“Preeti (name changed) was just six when she was brought to Mumbai and only nine when she was sold into Kamathipura’s red-light area. We rescued her a few years later, but by then, she had already endured unimaginable trauma. Her stories broke my heart. That’s when I resolved to dedicate my life to ending the trafficking and exploitation of children,” says Aaboo Varghese, who left a successful corporate career to take up this fight. “Preeti tragically lost her life years later to HIV, a result of the abuse she suffered as a child,” Aaboo sharesAaboo has dedicated his life to saving children from the horrors of red light areas, but he can not do it alone. With your support, he can bring freedom and light into the lives of many more unfortunate victims of child trafficking. This is a fast-growing business because unlike anything else, a human being can be sold over and over again. It is alarming and heart-wrenching,” Aaboo shares. But no matter how daunting the task might be Aaboo has made it his life mission to see the fight against human trafficking till the end. Living in a hell on earth“The abuse young girls face in red-light areas is beyond comprehension,” Aaboo shares. “These young girls are robbed of their innocence and their childhood. Traffickers beat them with rods, burn them, and mutilate their private parts just to break them. Children are kept in separate apartments where multiple men abuse them and get addicted to substances”, Aaboo says. Through his NGO Purnata, Aaboo is on a mission not just to rescue the victims from red-light areas but also to rehabilitate them and give them a fresh start in life. To date, he has saved 85 children and 60 women from red-light areas, but for him, the job is far from over. Aaboo has dedicated his life to this cause. Your contribution can strengthen his efforts. “Most of the artisans are unable to sell their artwork. They can't directly access the market. Their families are bearing the brunt. They can't send their children to school. They are going hungry. And the only way to help them is through proper support.”says Rajeev Ranjan, founder of our NGO partner ‘Winner With You’ which supports these artisansFor generations, tribal artisans have kept India's rich cultural heritage alive. But sadly, today many are being forced to abandon their art, as poverty tightens its grip. Without urgent help, both their livelihoods and their legacies could disappear forever.Your donation can help stop this loss. Support 300 tribal artisans with training, raw materials, and market access now. Raised in remote villages under severe hardship, he worked his way through school, earned an education, and eventually built a career in Europe. But when he returned home, what he saw shook him: artisans, once proud custodians of tribal art, living in extreme poverty, their crafts devalued, their children dropping out of school, and their skills on the verge of extinction.“This tribal art form is an integral part of India's cultural heritage. Artisans have preserved these art forms for centuries,” he says. Yet, in today’s fast-paced world, their talents are going unseen, unrecognized—and unpaid.Disconnected from modern markets and unable to compete with mass production, many artisans have had no choice but to leave their craft behind. “Many of them have left their craft to work as labourers or to collect firewood from the forest,” Rajeev explains. What we’re losing isn’t just art, it’s identity, tradition, and the voices of communities that shaped India’s heritage. And once these skills are lost, they cannot be revived. This is a crisis not just of income, but of dignity. And it’s one we can still prevent together.Raw materials, tools, and support to restore hope<img src="https://cfstatic.give.do/ad80d1f3-2320-4d56-89a9-a948716e7da3.webp" />Rajeev launched Craft Hub, an initiative of Winner With You, to give artisans a fighting chance. It provides them with skill training, improved product development, raw materials, and—most critically—direct market access.“Through Craft Hub, we can give them the support, we can give them a direct market link. We can try to teach them to make better products with their art. We can teach them how to brand and market their products.”This support not only improves the quality of their craft, but also restores their confidence and ability to earn with dignity. With it, artisans can send their children to school, return to their roots, and reclaim their rightful place in the economy.Donate now. Preserve heritage. Change lives.Winner With You is currently working to support 300 artisans with tools, training, and opportunities to thrive. But the need is urgent. “We are at a critical stage, and without your support, these artisans will continue to struggle and their art will be lost forever,” says Rajeev.“Please help them and support them so that we can preserve the cultural heritage. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of artisans and will ensure they can live their lives with dignity.”Donate today. Neither 8-year-old Sarita (name changed), nor her parents had ever seen the inside of a school until recently. And had it not been for our NGO partner Turnstone Global, yet another generation of the family would have followed in the footsteps of those before. And Sarita would be left with no other option but to remain trapped in the cycle of poverty and illiteracy. Not just Sarita but a large number of children have had no access to education in the extremely backward areas of Purulia district in West Bengal. Turnstone Global’s Daulat Public School has brought in winds of change for countless children like Sarita who are the first in their families to receive formal education. Visually impaired, Dr Kanchan Gaba, head of Turnstone Global, noticed the transformation that education can bring in the lives of the less privileged and started Daulat Public School. Its sole objective is to usher in a brighter future for children of Purulia. But she can not do it alone.Dr Kanchan, strapped for funds, is struggling to expand her school to meet the vast need in the region. Join her in this mission and enable hundreds of children to start their educational journey today. Most families are surviving on just rice and salt which is provided by the government. Proper education, which can be the only beacon of hope for children to come out of generational poverty, is well out of reach for tribal families here, Dr Kanchan says. The scale of poverty in these villages is staggering and the need for education is immense. Turnstone Global and Dr Kanchan cannot tackle this challenge alone. With a little support, the NGO can be a catalyst of change for generations to come. Donate generously to make Dr Kanchan’s dream come true. Generations trapped in illiteracyAccording to the head of the nonprofit organisation, not a single member of several families has ever set foot in a school. When ground level workers of Turnstone Global began surveying the area and spoke to families, they were astonished to see that even the concept of education was foreign to many. However, today Turnstone Global is providing quality English education and nutritious meals to over 250 students. “We want to open the door of education for hundreds of more children but the biggest hurdle for us is the paucity of funds. We are in urgent need to expand the capacity of our school so that many more can grow up to become capable and successful members of society”, Dr Kanchan says.Donate to this fundraiser by Give, India’s largest and most trusted online giving platform, to support Turnstone Global in giving children from tribal communities and first generation learners quality education and empower them to break the cycle of generational poverty.
