We informed to Salem District Collector and as per his guidance, Revenue Divisional Officer visited the Mill and found out the real fact and taken action for releasing the child labourers. Then, district administration issued Rs. 20000 for their rehabilitation and as advance Rs. 1000 was paid and then they were sent to their native place with the support of the Salem district officials. Tirupur People’s Forum was so supportive for this achievement.Two adolescent girls belonging to Villupuram district completed their three years work agreement at Pallipalayam Spinning Mill located near Gajjalnaickenpatti, Salem district. But she was denied the agreement amount Rs. 45000. Then with the help of Tirupur People’s Forum (TPF), we had interaction with the management of Mill and then the said amount was released to her.Under the Sumangalithittam, 41 young girls aged from 14-18 years were working in KKP Spinning Mils, Perumapatti, Namakkal District. The girls belonged to Trichirapalli, Pudukottai, Tiruvannamalai and Cuddalore districts. They were working and stayed in the hostel. It was known that they were treated as bonded labourers. The issue was taken to Child Welfare Committee and Child line 1098 of Namakkal district. They helped us to released all the girls and three month salary which was balance and given to them.Mrs. Malliga was working as a labour in SP Super Fine Cotton Mill at Kalpaganur village of PeddaNaickenPalayam and returned to home in Mill’s vehicle on 19th May 2019 at about 11.30 pm in the midnight; but when she got down at Thanneer pandal Bus Stop, a lorry hit her and passed at high speed In the Salem to Attur National High Ways. Unfortunately, the lady was died on the spot itself. She was 34 years old. Her husband was died about 10 years back. She has three children and she belonged to Arunthathiyar (Cobler) community and has no social and psychological support to her. Her service was 8 years in the mill in Combar Department. She was lastly paid as wages Rs. 280 per day and has PF benefit. But after her demise, the benefits were denied by the mill.Then we approached the District Collector of Salem, Labour Welfare Officer and given the petition but no response from the management of the Mills. Then we approached National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi (Case number 2504/22/31/2019). The commission was passed an order to present in person before the NHRC at Anna Century Hall, University of Madras, Chennai. The Labour Welfare Officer of Salem was asked to take the affected families, Management of Mill to Chennai. After the enquiry, the commission ordered to give the PF amount and Rs. 3000 each to three children aged 8, 10 and 12 years until the completion of 25 years as they are being as minors. When the workers were dropped to Veppadai village from Kumaramangalam, accident was taken place in Salem to Coimbatore National High Ways. In the accident, 6 women were died on the spot itself and 7 women were seriously injured. We took initiative for getting compensation to the victims. The mill management agreed to pay Rs. 30000 each for the demised persons’ family and hospital expenses of injured persons respectively. We have empowered and enriched the knowledge among the people of Salem and Kallakurichi districts under the topics of Rights of Labour welfare, Laws related to Labour welfare, labour and Social protection, Right To Information Act, Protection of Violence against Women, Prevention of Child Labour Act, Prevention of Bonded Labour Act, Government Welfare Schemes, Prevention of Child Marriages Act, Women helpline 181, child helpline 1098, Free Legal Aid to about 1 lakh population with the support of Ethical Trading Initiative UK.In 1997, we surveyed the villages with the guidance and support of District Collector, Salem about Bonded Labourers and taken the list of bonded labourers worked in Ayodhyapattinam and Vazhapadi blocks. We identified 100 bonded labourers worked in agriculture sector. The Revenue Divisional Officer, Thasildhar, VAO inquired the identified bonded labourers and released 36 labourers out of 100 as per their parameters. The released bonded labourers were issued milch animals, goats / sheep worth of 20000 for their immediate income sources and their livelihood. We filed a case in High Court of Madras to release the rest of the bonded labourers. But the High court could only release the 10 persons out of 64 bonded labourers. They also were provided milch animals and goats for their livelihood.  In 2007, with the support of Department of Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribes, we took survey to identify the bonded labourers. We met 2000 persons and collected the information through prescribed questionnaire and submitted the filled in forms to the District administration, Salem.Due to the wide spread of COVID 19, the spinning and Garments industries located in Ayodhyapattinam block were closed. All the workers lost their employment and income sources and pushed in to the poverty with force. Due to lack of income sources, women and young girls were faced sexual abuses and violence for their daily survival. The people face struggle and difficulty even to face the medical expenses and the people were forced to borrow at high rate of interest. In such a situation, Rs. 5 lakhs was sanctioned by APPI, Bengaluru and we could help the affected persons as an interim relief to 50 women as monetary support of Rs. 1000 as cash support and another 450 women were given grocery, sanitary items, soaps and provisional items with the worth of Rs. 1000 and totally 500 beneficiaries were supported under the project. The indirect beneficiaries were 2500 from widows, aged unmarried women, divorced, destitute, physically handicapped and child labourers including under the poverty line.We mainstreamed 175 dropout students in Vazhapadi block and 251 children from Peddanaickenpalayam respectively through providing special coaching camps to the school located nearer to the concerned home villages.KROPE organization conducted General Eye Camp at PUP School, Sheshanchavadi of Vazhapadi block combined and collaborated with Lion’s Club, Puthiragoundanpalayam and Aravind Eye Hospital, Salem. The people from adjoining villages, workers of spinning mills, daily agriculture labourers took participation in the camp; out of 115 participants, 26 women were taken to Aravind Eye Hospital to undergo operation and they recovered their vision back.K-ROPE has organized various awareness programmes and legal rights training to these textile women groups. K-ROPE has organized awreness programme on the sexual harassment of Women at work place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act,2013 in the target block with the support of Department of Social Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu. In order to protect women from sexual harassment in 125 Spinning mills in the Salem district, as per the order of the Supreme Court, internal complaint committees should be set up and implemented as per the Prohibition of Sexual Violence Against Women Act 2013. This internal grievance committee should be a committee with women as members. Women who have been sexually harassed should report their problems in this group. The committee should look into these issues and give a proper verdict within three months. This committee has been given the authority of a civil court. Therefore, internal complaint committees should be set up to protect women from sexual violence in workplaces. 
 The project consists of providing awareness education to the women and girl workers of Spinning mills/cotton / Textile industries to ensure their legal rights. The project would emphasize initiating forming the Internal Complaint Committee and to follow the Hostel regulations in Cotton Textile Industries and Spinning Mills. The project will be implemented in the Ayodhyapattinam block of the Salem District.The project would make aware of the importance of forming the Internal Complaint Committee consisting of eight members – one from a Senior women worker of the concerned Mill, one from a leader of the women Self Help Group, one from an NGO representative, One from an Elected Local Body Representative and one from Police Department, one from Social Welfare Department, One from District Child Protection Unit and one from Free Legal Aid.The committee would gather once a month to verify the complaint and take action legally on the spot if it was proved; if no compromise takes place from any one of the sides, the case will be taken to district-level officials. The responsibilities of the committee will be as follows.The committee would gather once a month to verify the complaint and action should be taken legally on the spot. One is from an employer who should have knowledge of legal laws and have experience in social work and also be involved in women's issues.The second is from the working industry/company who should be women from supreme power authority or senior most post of the concerned company.The third one should be neutral and the third person from Non Governmental organizations should have knowledge of sexual abuses and harassment.  
 The protection taken against the violence of sexual harassment and abuses should be ensured through proper supervision and routine monitoring. The data of cases filed and solved against sexual harassment should be maintained properly. The reports submitted by the Local Complaint Committee within the stipulated time should be monitored by the concerned district officials. The District administration should take steps to make avail the services of Non-Government organizations for creating awareness of Women's rights and sexual harassment against women in their districts. The annual reports of the Local Complaint Committee and Internal Complaint Committees should be submitted to the State Government The policies about sexual abuses against women should be framed and actions to be taken if anyone violates the frameworks must be taken action legally. The awareness and legal advice may be given through seminars, training about violence against women A model guide about sexual abuses and acts to be prepared and should be given to the members and workers of the mill workers.

Menstrual Hygiene Management is an integral part of solid waste management in Girl children schools. However, the girl children have not ·        Access to menstrual hygiene knowledge and information in school and home ·        Access to safe menstrual absorbents·        Facilities for sufficient water, sanitation and hygiene infra structure·        Access to safe disposal of used menstrual absorbents.·        Completely prepared themselves to face their menstruation and proper cleaning of themselves and their cloth absorbents.	Careless throwing/unsafe disposal of the used unclean absorbents in and around the toilets is creating filthy and ugly environment. It can develop and spread health issues.The proposed project is going to address the said issues and support the Girls’ school to trigger up Menstrual Hygiene Management. 
 Training: It will educate the school going adolescent girls on removing taboos and misconceptions, menstrual cycle, wise use of absorbent pads instead of using cloths and other materials, safe disposal of used pads through burning them by incinerators.  Training will be entertained through batch by batch. A batch will consist of 50 adolescent girls. Each school will give training for 10 batches. Install a Sanitary napkin vending machine: By this machine, the menstruated girl can get access to clean new absorbent pad through inserting Rs.5 coin in the machine.Install sufficient number of incinerators in the toilets of schools. Menstruated girl can burn their used absorbent pads safely. They can clean themselves by soap wash and enough water.Composting the school wastes: Wastes generated in the schools like the food wastes, paper wastes and the ashes of used absorbent pads are degradable. A pit with the size of 2feet @ 4feet @2 feet will be excavated and school wastes will be deposited for 4 months. It will be digested by the earth warms. Excellent compost manure will be acquired from the pit. It will be used as fertilizer for the bio-intensive garden setting up by this project in all 10 schools.Bio-intensive Garden in each school: 16 feet @ 10 feet land will be leveled and prepared for setting up bio-intensive garden. Fencing will be done. Vegetable, greens and fruits seedlings will be planted. Used water will be diverted into this for watering. Compost manure from the pit will be spread in the garden. Causalities will be replaced and grown up the plants successfully. Produce of the garden will be supplied to the mid-day meals wing and nutritious food will be cooked and distributed for the girl children.Awareness Procession: In the active participation of girl students in the school, an awareness procession will be mobilized around the streets located at the school. Placard and slogans on clean environment and wise solid waste management will be raised in the procession. 
 ·        Menstrual hygiene management would be enhanced in 10 Girls schools·        Clean environment and solid waste management would be enhanced in and around school.·        Menstrual hygiene and health of the adolescent girls (More than 5000 girls) would be enhanced.·        Knowledge on menstrual hygiene and better practices would be improved into sufficient level·        Girls’ schools would be ensured to access to safe menstrual absorbents and safe disposal of used absorbents.·        Dignity of the adolescent girls in and out of the school enhanced.·        The ability of menstruated adolescent girls to stay free in school would be enhanced.·        Girl students would be directly involved in menstrual hygiene management, solid waste management through composting them in the pit.·        Bio-intensive garden would be grown up in each school that would ensure healthy nutritious food supply·        Health and physical strength of the girl children in all 10 schools would be enhanced.
