India has the world’s largest community health workforce, with over 10 Lakh ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activist) connecting the marginalised communities (over 900 million) to the health care system through multiple health programs under the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM). ASHAs are woman resident (married/ widowed/ divorced ) of the same community or village and ideally qualified up to 10 standard. An ASHA worker on an average serves the population of 1000 citizens with her work profile involving door to door visits carrying multiple registers for respective health programs. Along with serving these communities, ASHAs spend up to 10 hours consolidating data from these registers and traveling to primary health centre for submission to data entry operators on a monthly basis. This leads to 10 hours of lost care-giving time per ASHA per month, reporting delays of 30 days (leading to delayed referral of high-risk cases), issues with data consistency, and reductions in ASHA compensation.  Time saved from paper-based reporting could be used to serve more beneficiaries on a monthly basis, to generate an accurate population denominator for targeted services, to ensure proper referral care, and to identify early community spread of disease. 
 Khushi Baby empowers community health workers with digital health solutions to deliver better primary health care at the last mile. Our work includes designing, developing, deploying, and evaluating digital health solutions. Khushi Baby is serving as the Nodal Technical Support Partner to the Department of Medical Health &amp; Family Welfare, Rajasthan with our solutions institutionalised in Rajasthan’s public health infrastructure. Under the above role, Khushi Baby has developed individual mobile applications for all healthcare providers including ASHAs under a wider public health digital platform. The offline-ready, m-health application for ASHAs captures their entire work requirement across all primary health care programs and streamlines data collection, report generation, and payment automation. The application is tailored for last-mile settings with poor data connectivity and facilitates end-to-end primary care services &amp; tracking (immunisation, Ante Natal Check-up (ANC), Post Natal Check-up supplementary nutrition, Non Communicable Disease (NCD)management, sanitation and other services)  
 At present, the ASHA worker collects health information manually and submit the same to the supervising healthcare worker. This is a tedious task which results in inaccurate data and inefficiency in health care service delivery. Through Smart phones, ASHA workers would be able to collect the data directly and transmit the corrected data directly to the concerned Health care facility. Communication with the healthcare service provider &amp; beneficiaries will also be made easy. However, coming in from the community itself, ASHAs face similar economic hardships when it comes to possessing a personal smartphone. Majority of families in rural Rajasthan do not have access to smartphones. They either use regular feature phones or there would be 1 smartphone for complete household (in possession of head of family). To address this, Khushi Baby aims to reach out to 250 ASHAs through the distribution of low cost, robust android smartphones in District Udaipur, Rajasthan. These smartphones shall not only digitally empower 250 ASHAs but also help them in reaching out to 2,50,000 beneficiaries approximately under the multiple health programs in a much effective manner.

Digitally empower ASHAs to provide quality primary health services at the last mile

As a result of COVID19, over 2 Cr people in Rajasthan are at higher risk of medical complications - both from lack of access to routine medical services AND from increased severity of disease progression of COVID19, given their underlying health. These vulnerable groups include people who are elderly, with comorbidities (COPD, diabetes, heart disease, vascular disease, kidney and liver disease), pregnant women, and young children. Social vulnerability also plays an important role. Those living in overcrowded urban slums and performing essential services are at a higher risk of exposure. Proactive follow-up and community engagement is needed to ensure these communities receive adequate support.	 
 The Rajasthan Department of Medical, Health, and Family Welfare has launched Mission Lisa (for "life-saving") to specifically help these vulnerable groups during COVID19.Khushi Baby will be performing three key activities:a) Supporting data-driven policies to target active surveillance efforts across the stateb) Developing and deploying a mobile health application for frontline health workersc) Performing manual and automated voice call follow-ups with people showing high-risk features 
 Reach 25 lakha) Screen at least 10% of the at-risk population (20 lakh residents) who are at highest risk via the digital platformb) Ensure at least 50% of at-risk population (1 lakh residents) gets a medical check-up for their on-going conditionc) Ensure 50% of pregnant and lactating women receive a follow-up call in the next 3 months (1.5 lakh mothers) to coordinate safe delivery and check on neonatal danger signsd) Empower 2000 front line female health workers to become smart-phone friendlyFinally, we hope to sustain impact by extending this platform as a basis for longitudinal community health tracking of 7 Cr people in the coming months
