"My son used to kick me when he was in my womb. Why make an issue when he kicked me in my old age?" reasons a very forgiving Shakti Dasi. The widow travelled 2300 kms from Tripura to Vrindavan after her only son violently beat her with a burning plank of wood and broke her knee one evening. She had to leave behind the business she had built with her husband who had died a few years back. Shakti ended up on the streets of Brindavan begging for food and shelter. But when Winnie Singh of Maitri saw Shakti in a frail state in tattered clothes, she brought her to the shelter home where Shakti gets food, care and medicines. What more, with Maitri’s intervention, Shakti reconciled with her son - and daughter-in-law, and now travels home to Tripura twice a year to spend time with her grandchildren. But she is not leaving Maitri, as this has become her family.Not every elderly widow who comes to Vrindavan after being abandoned by her family gets as lucky as Shakti. Many of them often end up living a lonely life and begging to survive on the streets. Lakshya Jeevan Jagriti (LJJ) is registered under the society registration act and was started in 2009 by the core team of seven college-going students who decided to work for society instead of choosing a high paying career and believed that quality education and personal development will enable those from underprivileged backgrounds to gain the requisite skills to be ‘market-ready’.  None of us have been prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit us all. From March onwards we have supported most impacted low-income communities with grocery and cooked meals. Due to the close connection with these communities in the past 6 months, we came to know the issues related to acquiring education at this challenging time. The low-income private and government schools have completely shut down for not having access to e-learning solutions. The students, in addition to the missed opportunities for learning, no longer have access to healthy meals during this time and are subject to economic and social stress. 
 We are supporting children and youth by giving them access to online education and training. We have rebuilt our model of education for low-income communities by not just providing them educational support but emotionally reconnects with them. Through Social-Emotional Learning we are making sure that we listening to them and we are there with them. We are raising funds to provide them access to online classes along with nutritional and healthy food. Objective<ol><li>To Increase Employability and develop every lower socioeconomic child into a confident workforce who can see and do things differently, and make them aware of the current needs and global developments.</li><li>To embark each child on a journey of Self Discovery and Self Learning and develop their confidence and competencies level</li><li>To Develop Observation and learning study methodology; to connect work and learning</li><li>To improve the decision-making skills and administrative competence</li></ol>    5.
